The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) is a unique Government agency with a mission that is dedicated to training all U.S. Government (USG) personnel who are stationed at posts. The institute has global reach, with more than 60,000 annual enrollments from State and nearly 50 USG agencies. The institute provides training in languages, national security, leadership, stability operations for new hires. One of FSI's strategic goals is to utilize technology to increase training effectiveness. FSI is also an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) authorized e-Training service providers and one of three Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved providers of computer security training. EIS supports the Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) to develop customized software solutions that deliver business value. EIS supports the design, development, and management of the external and internal applications and systems that allow the institute to leverage technology to increase access to training via Distance Learning (DL) and to maintain all course records.
Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software.
Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.
Ensures compliance with Department of State's IT security standards.
Researches, tests, builds, and integrates enhancements or new products based on client requirements.
Designs and develops new major software products or major enhancements to existing software.
Prepares and provides software-related documentation.
Provides status reports for ongoing work.
Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
Acts as team leader on projects.
Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on development team.
Facilitates change control, problem management, and communication among programmers and analysts.
Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments
Minimum of eight years of experience in software development.
A secret clearance (at a minimum).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
