WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE THE SR. SPECIALIST, BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION You need to be very knowledgeable about Federal and state employment laws, leave guidelines, and reporting requirements. You need to demonstrate exemplary service to your internal customers, the USO employees. You will be the primary resource for employees to reach out to regarding leave and benefits administration.You need to be analytical, with a strong foundation in compensation program administration. You need to be a self-starter, proactive and an avid learner - bring creative solutions to the table, look for opportunities to take on projects and tasks in your areas of expertise.Like any USO employee, you need to demonstrate integrity and trust; respect and appreciation of colleagues; a drive for results; and focus on the USO customer experience. KEY PRIORITIES INCLUDE: Manage the administration of FMLA, disability and workers' compensation programs and ensure compliance with government regulations; counsel employees and managers and coordinate return-to-work.Support the analysis and implementation of compensation programs, including the evaluation of job families, pay grades, and salary data; assist with the performance review and merit increase process.Administer benefits programs, wellness initiatives, and Open Enrollment; facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees; deliver benefits section of the onsite and remote new hire orientation program; handle benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution.Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation and benefits programs, plans and policies; collaborate as necessary with other departments in the delivery of information across multiple channels.Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field. Master's and/or professional certification preferred.5 years of experience in a small or mid-sized HR department, including 3 years in a compensation and/or benefits administration role. Relevant experience in a military, not-for-profit, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.Knowledge of Federal and State regulations concerning employment, leave and reporting requirements.Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism. Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. General knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.Must be a strong advocate of the USO's mission to lift the spirits of America's troops and their families.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
