Data Scientist (PowerBI) - Clearance Required with Security Clearance
Overview LMI is seeking a data scientist at Headquarters, Department of the Army, G-4 at the Pentagon with telework optionsAt LMI, we're reimagining the path from insight to outcome at The New Speed of Possible(TM)Combining a legacy of over 60 years of federal expertise with our innovation ecosystem, we minimize time to value and accelerate mission successWe energize the brightest minds with emerging technologies to inspire creative solutioning and push the boundaries of capabilityLMI advances the pace of progress, enabling our customers to thrive while adapting to evolving mission needsThe candidate will work onsite at the Pentagon, as needed, supporting the Army G-4's G-46 Data Division responsible for policies, publications, and processes related to data science, applications, and analyticsAdditionally, the applicant must be a Power BI expert; be proficient in data transformation and data cleansing; be well-versed in the Office 365 environment and have excellent writing, presentation, and training skillsThe position may work largely in a remote posture, but the consultant may occasionally work onsite to support high-level governance forumsThe candidate must be able to work autonomously, set high standards for personal performance, have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, and able to work with minimal guidancePosition requires a DoD SecretResponsibilitieso Demonstrate the ability to frame and scale data problems to effectively analyze, visualize and find data solutions.o Demonstrate Power BI expertiseo Possess the ability to work with and manipulate common data formats, including comma-delimited, text files, and JSON.o Analyst must be able to transform data and analysis into informative data visualizations and/or interactive dashboards using open source and commercially available visualization and dashboard tools.o Demonstrate the ability to derive insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling and clear communication in response to specific research questions.o Ability to synthesize information into presentations or products for Army senior leaderso Ability to provide work-force training as neededo Ability to work in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment focused on client deliverables, analysis and reporting.o Possess the ability to work in teams and independentlyQualifications MINIMUM:
o Bachelor's degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or other related business or quantitative discipline is required.o 5-10 years of experience, performing related responsibilities and dutieso Expertise with Power BIo Experience working with tools including object-oriented programming (Python, Java), computational analysis tools (R, MATLAB), and associated data science libraries (scikit-learn).o Experience creating meaningful data visualizations and/or interactive dashboards that communicate your findings and relate them back to how your insights create business impact using platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, RShiny, plotly, and d3.js.o Working knowledge of databases and SQL is desiredPreferred qualifications include linking analytic and data visualization products to database connections.o Preferred experience with data science methods related to data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics.o Additional preferred qualifications include working with unstructured text and natural language processing.o Superior communication skills, both oral and writteno This position requires an active security clearanceYou must be a US citizenDESIRED:
