Our Food and Nutrition Services Department is in need of an enthusiastic Cook who will perform tasks such as cooking and presenting meals for patients, employees and customers of Virginia Hospital Center.
The cook will follow proper food handling procedures, maintain production records and HACCP controls, and participate in catering and special events as required.
The ability to work under minimal supervision and accomplish tasks in a fast paced environment following departmental guidelines is required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferredMinimum of two years experience as a cook in a healthcare facility or restaurant requiredOne year of basic mathematics skills required.
Special Skills/training needed to perform job or operate equipment, including ovens, steamers, slicers, computers, pagers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
Responsibilities:
Prepares food items in a timely fashion following production time schedules, prescribed recipes, procedures and guidelines.
Prepares regular and modified foods for patient and customers utilizing diet modification guidelines and recipe compliance.
Assists with menu development, serving food items, cash handling, food ordering demonstration cooking and patient tray assembly.
Participates in food and equipment product evaluation.
Follows proper food handling procedures including maintaining food in a temperature safety zone.
Maintains and sanitizes work area and all related equipment.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
