WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PLANT BUREAU CHIEF

Position Information The Department of Environmental Services (DES) is seeking a dynamic and energetic leader for our Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP), a 40 MGD, state of the art Class 1 Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility.
This is a unique senior leadership opportunity in a diverse and innovative organization that is in the programming stages of an estimated $170M capital program to upgrade the solids handling processes to a THP/AD process.
The WPCP is organized into five sections:
Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, Engineering, and Administration/Finance.
Employee development, safety, and regulatory compliance are top priorities for this position.

Major
Responsibilities:
Directing, planning, and overseeing the operations of this 24/7 critical facility;Ensuring that the facility operates within all regulatory limits;Ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, visitors, and the public; andCommunicating effectively with internal and external customers, including elected and appointed government officials, superiors, peers, contractors, inter-jurisdictional partners, constituents, State regulators and all other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in organizational leadership, administration, and management to create/maintain an environment in which our technically skilled and diverse workforce of nearly 90 will thrive.
Ideally, this candidate will have extensive experience and a proven record of success in both the technical management and human resources management of a 24/7/365 wastewater environment with strict permit limits.
Selection Criteria Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field;Extensive management experience and a strong record of achievement managing public utilities or water/wastewater treatment facilities.
Desirable:
Preference may be given to candidates with a Master's degree in Business or Public Administration or related field, and one or more of the following:
Experience supervising and motivating a large and varied staff operating on a 24-hour basis;Professional Engineer license and/or Class I Wastewater license;Knowledge and experience in emergency operations; andExperience and/or demonstrated knowledge of water, wastewater, and sanitary sewer system operations, engineering, and regulations.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
