Job Description:
ECS is seeking a talented Senior Cloud Transformation Strategist to join our teams supporting the US Department of Homeland Security.
We are seeking a talented senior cloud solutions architect DHS HQ Cloud Team.
This team supports DHS Headquarters objectives to modernize enterprise level IT systems and support system migrations to cloud based services.
This individual is passionate about Cloud Technology (AWS, Azure), DevOps, automation, and software development.
You are capable of applying technical and functional expertise to lead the strategic direction, design, and modernization of enterprise cloud service offerings.
The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and perpetual learner; excited to apply a multidimensional background to establish consistent service delivery and streamline operational processes for enterprise shared services.
As a Senior Cloud Transformation Strategist, you will build an understanding of customer organizations, processes, mission priorities and technology objectives, help them in defining their technology adoption and service maturity roadmaps, and lead them in through implementation.
You have a working knowledge of cloud technologies and systems architecture and are comfortable working across technical and non-technical problem sets to design and deliver modern IT systems.
Your experience in system design and architecture will be applied as you evaluate the current state of data-center hosted applications and support system owners and platform engineers in understanding cloud capabilities and services and promoting systems architectures that seek to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
You understand the cost factors of cloud-based infrastructure, platform, and software as a service operational models and are able to assess the financial and performance impacts of design decisions.
In this role, you will:
Develop new and existing relationships across a complex and divers' organization to identify technology and security improvement opportunities Collaborate with platform engineers and system business owners to architect solutions and develop supporting Statements of Work defining scope, approach and estimated work effort to support successful delivery Perform assessments and deliver action plans and roadmaps for our clients to close their technical and security related gaps as they migrate to a cloud environment Designing workflow and process strategies that support customer objective for improved system security, performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness Lead systems analysis and ensure satisfactory performance by providing recommendations, assessments, planning, deployment, configuring, systems integration, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and operations and maintenance of systems operating in the cloud Identify new and leverage existing technology solutions to solve business and technology challenges problems Perform research and lead proof of concept efforts to determine where additional technologies may be necessary Support requirements elicitation and analysis, business case development, analysis of alternatives, and the development of recommendations for cloud migration, platform optimization, and capacity management Support migrating systems in the assessment the technical needs of a project throughout its lifecycle, and support key technical design decisions Engage with incident response teams and client IT teams to support the triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of priority issues Assist with comprehensive investigations and triage on wide variety of client environments and implement respond and remediation efforts Provide technical mentorship and leadership to grow technical staff of the team Maintain awareness of technology trends and issues to apply that knowledge to client issues and solutions.
Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex cloud technology issues Foster collaboration across systems analysts, designers, and/or developers on research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, design, and product testing Support the development and maturation of service delivery models Communicate complex technical concepts and their business implications to clients to help them evaluate and understand the impacts of design decisions Required Skills:
Must be a US Citizen Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance BS degree in Computer Science or related IT field/equivalent experience 7
years of IT experience with a focus in leading systems integration, system migrations, or service management / IT operations Certifications in one or more cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.
) (or experience working with Cloud platforms) Hands on experience in Cloud based infrastructure AWS or Azure Experience with Agile development methodologies Strong critical and analytical thinking and research skills Experience leading the design and improvement of system architectures Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
Proven success in supporting a broad array of cloud services Experience with DHS and knowledge of DHS standards a plus Demonstrated experience translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive data strategies and analytic solutions Certifications in one or more cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.
) (or experience working with Cloud platforms) Experience with Agile development methodologies Strong critical and analytical thinking and research skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
