Senior Quality Assurance Construction Inspector (Qaci)

The Senior Quality Assurance Construction Inspector (QACI) serves as the onsite M representative providing critical construction management support to the Client at Rivanna Station, Charlottesville, VA.
The project includes addition of state-of-the-art laboratory workspace and a multilevel parking structure, with workstations and meeting areas configured to support mission activities, collaboration, and training either in a secure or non-secure environment accommodating approximately 250 personnel.
The QACI will be accountable for working with multidiscipline subcontractors to ensure quality compliance, leading the development of Inspection Test Plans and assisting in development of Turn Over Package requirements.
The QACI will also provide onsite assistance monitoring and visual inspection of material at receipt and before installation.
Based at a Client site in Charlottesville, VA, the QACI will have inspection experience in all facets of vertical/facility construction (including MEP inspection background) to meet US Army Corps of Engineers requirements.

Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing
Leverage your experience in preparing written reports, correspondence, and in briefing clients and management personnel
Conduct inspections to resolve problems on construction projects and brief Government personnel
Demonstrate knowledge of USACE Quality Management construction practices and techniques, including experience in proper installation methods of construction materials
Inspect materials, workmanship, construction and installation of various MEP systems
Demonstrate knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, materials and methods, and industry design standards
Perform technical reviews of contract documents including RFP, RFI, and SOW submittals
Perform contract QA including documenting construction contractor QC tests and material/equipment defects, observed construction activities, OSHA compliance, schedule compliance, and providing daily punch-list inspection and contract closeout reports with observations, findings, and recommendations
Interpret engineering and architectural plans and specifications
Leverage extensive construction experience with major upgrades or replacement of large building mechanical plants and electrical gear, facility additions, and new parking structures.
Leverage construction experience with installation of new Fire Alarm systems and Fire Sprinkler systems
Perform all other position-related duties as assignedRequired Skills & Experience
AA degree or 2-years of college/trade school experience
10
years of QA/QC inspection experience working in the construction industry on vertical projects valued at $10M+
USACE CQM certification (or willingness to obtain certification within 90-days of hire)
OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain certification within 90-days of hire)
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid drivers license
Must read/write/speak English fluently
Must be a US CitizenPreferred Attributes & Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of civil, structure, mechanical and electrical engineering, utilities construction methods, procedures, practices, plans, specifications and contracts, materials use and performance, environmental, legal and safety responsibilities related to construction of vertical projects (eg, lab facilities/parking structures)
Low Voltage & Medium Voltage experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Forward leaning, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
Quick learner driven to broaden knowledge base
Ability to work effectively on a variety of multidisciplinary teams
Experience with writing and managing Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs)
Ability to work seamlessly with a government Client as an Owners Representative
Strong technical and communication skills
Knowledge of MS Schedule, Primavera, Prolog, Microsoft Office
BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
Security clearance (desirable)
