Interim Global Legal Director

Major, Lindsey & Africa's Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for a Contract-to-Hire Global Legal Director.

Our client is seeking an experienced non-profit legal counsel on a contract-to-hire basis.

years of transactional legal experience.
Location:
Arlington, VA (remote until April or May).
Responsibilities Include:
Ensuring legal, compliance, and data privacy processes are implemented and embedded in team operations and are appropriately documented across over 30 countries worldwide;Reviewing and negotiating partnership contracts according to organizational policy;Responding to legal requests from program managers and country offices;Researching domestic and international laws and applying to organization's work;Managing pro bono and legal partnership relationships;Connecting social entrepreneurs in organization's network (Fellows) to external pro bono support;Coordinating risk mitigation and governance across organization's global offices and teams; andWorking with Integrity team members and other functional teams on all other legal, compliance, and data privacy matters as relevant.
Qualifications Include:
JD or equivalent law degree, with a US bar membership and 5
years of experience as a practicing lawyer.
Interest in nonprofit law, compliance, data privacy, intellectual property, corporate governance, and/or social entrepreneurship.
Energy to engage with a highly collaborative team as well as self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
