The Commercial Space Integration Specialist will support the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ).
The Commercial Space Integration Specialist provides expertise to assist SAF/SQ with fulfilling responsibilities as the Department of the Air Force (DAF) lead for space acquisition and capability integration activities, in collaboration with the offices of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SAF/AQ), and the Chief of Space Operations.
This is an opportunity to be part of the team defining new acquisition processes, and delivering space capabilities on rapid timelines, with a particular focus on modernizing key capabilities and integrating them into our National Security Space Enterprise Architecture.
The Commercial Space Integration Specialist primarily supports the Capability Development Directorate (SAF/SQS) and reports to the Chief of Program Integration.
SAF/SQS is responsible for overseeing the execution of 65 Major Capability Acquisition (MCA) programs for the Space Enterprise.
The Commercial Space Integration Specialist will identify potential partnerships and/or collaboration opportunities to help fill capability gaps, increase resilience, and improve interoperability.
Responsibilities
Improve and expand Headquarters Air Force knowledge of innovative space-relevant commercial capabilities.

Facilitate incorporating additional commercial space capabilities or capacity to augment current and emerging national security space and space-enabled capabilities.

Facilitate collaboration with commercial partners by establishing and sustaining effective working relationships with existing and emerging commercial space capability or service providers.

Facilitate interoperability efforts, including expediting authorized information exchange with commercial partners.

Apply in-depth knowledge and practical understanding of relevant laws, policy, and authoritative guidance regarding DAF interaction with commercial entities to ensure compliance with standards of ethical conduct.

Analyze information from diverse sources, determine relevant facts, develop viable courses of action, and provide actionable recommendations.

Help establish the processes to enable oversight of the integration and synchronization of DAF space architectures, and their included capabilities, with commercial space sectors.

Prepare and deliver executive level briefings, reports, and summary papers; explain complex concepts in relatively simple language; summarize key decisions; and provide recommendations supported by analysis.
Required Skills and
Experience:

Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including the ability to adapt communication style to target audiences.

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of computer applications
Bachelors degree plus 20 or more yrs.
applicable experience (experience may be substituted for education, or education for experience at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officers Representative)
Active TS/SCI clearance is required for the position.

Subject Matter Expertise gained through working within the U.
S.
commercial space industry.

Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations
Familiarity with civil and international space capabilities Preferred Skills
Masters degree in a relevant field (for example, Space Systems Engineering)
20
years experience in operations, engineering, scientific, analysis, policy or planning field related to National Security Space
Experience in commercial space industry, such as one or more positions of responsibility in spacecraft development, core space-relevant business processes, or business development
Experience with US Government acquisition of commercial space capabilities or services
Headquarters Air Force (AF/SF/SAF) staff experience
Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Military Service HQ, DoD components or Intelligence Community staffs, or support to comparable corporate executive offices.

Familiarity with the Department of Defense Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES)
