Description Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development and Strategy Professional for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
The candidate will lead planning and business development initiatives within the Leidos Innovations Center Operation and the Dynetics Group across a variety of technology areas.
The candidate will work closely with the Operation's leadership to drive strategic growth objectives by developing and refining an understanding of customers' needs and creating/leading winning capture strategies.
This critical role will include responsibility for all aspects of business development to include strategic capture, proposal operations, and strategy.
The selected individual will be held accountable for identification, qualification and capture of business development opportunities as well as the generation of qualified pipeline growth supporting the Operation's forecast and plan.
In addition, this individual will plan and recommend business development and marketing strategies to achieve customer and market penetration and drive business area and product growth.
Responsibilities:
Grow the opportunity pipeline, to include existing as well as adjacent markets/customers, through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities by leveraging current technologies, customer intimacies, and inter-company collaboration Support development of growth plans to ensure alignment with strategic goals of the Operation Lead and participate in the identification, qualification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities Develops internal cross-organizational relationships and drives new growth through collaboration with the other Groups Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies Participate in bid decisions, gate reviews and the development of cost strategies Play a key role in the development and execution of the long-term strategic plan for the Operation Conduct customer visits and perform research to understand current and emerging customer needs and requirements Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to specific customers across a diverse business portfolio
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15
years of leadership experience working in Department of Defense Research and Development, US Government and/or other adjacent Research and Development markets Proven and extensive experience developing, capturing and transitioning DARPA programs from inception to Program of Record Demonstrated experience and contacts with DARPA transition partners, US and international The ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders with DOD and International Defense Customers Proven ability to collaborate within and across organizational boundaries Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the company's growth strategy Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market Excellent writing, communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers Proven experience working with geographically diverse teams to include strong coaching and mentoring skills Possesses the skills and ability to empower and engage people and instill drive and passion into the organization Preferred
Qualifications:
Formal capture and proposal writing training (desired) Experience developing and managing marketing and bid and proposal budgets Experience and comfort interfacing at all organization levels, to include executive/CEO Knowledge and experience with program management, program planning and execution, and systems engineering Pay Range:
Pay Range $142,350.
00 - $219,000.
00 - $295,650.
00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
