Computer Network Architect
Description Leidos is seeking a highly motivated Chief Network Engineer who can work in a multi-discipline engineering team (signal processing, systems engineers, scientists, etc.
) and contribute to the research, design, and development of advanced networking and radio communications components across multiple R&D projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for technical management of the projects, as well as making key technical contributions to the projects.
The candidate must have a strong background in both wired and wireless networking and communications, including 4G LTE and 5G wireless networks, and possess a deep understanding of network protocols, such as IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP/ICMP, ARP, etc.
Primary
Responsibilities:
o Serve as Principal Investigator/Chief Engineer for a project, which includes defining and managing the technical project plan and the technical team, and ensuring that all aspects of the project remain on schedule and within budget.
o Design and define network architecture for new or existing systems.
o Perform complex network development and design.
o Identify, analyze, and resolve advanced/next-generation networking challenges.
o Support/manage systems integration and participate in laboratory and field test events.
o Some travel and work at remote sites for limited periods may be required.
Basic
Qualifications:
o BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with 12
years of experience -MA/MS degree preferred.
Additional years of experience may be substituted for advanced degree.
o Must possess and maintain a minimum U.
S.
Secret security clearance.
o Knowledge and experience with network protocols such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, DNS, DHCP and routing protocols such as OSPF, OLSR, BGP, and others o Knowledge of 4G LTE & 5G architectures, including RAN, RIC, gNodeB, 5G PHY layer, edge computing, network slicing, etc.
o Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
o Ability to work efficiently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
o Ability to work effectively with little to no supervision.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly Desired:
o Serve as Principal Investigator or Technical Lead in research and development projects.
o Interact with outside customers, suppliers, and functional peer groups.
o Experience in cybersecurity and related topics.
o Experience as technical contributor to technical proposals.
o Possess experience/knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering.
LInCElectronic Warfare Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.
00 - $182,000.
00 - $245,700.
