LinQuest is seeking a Senior Systems Security Engineer familiar with national security space systems to join our team at the Pentagon.
The Senior Systems Security Engineer will support the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ).
The position primarily involves helping the Assistant Secretary to provide direction, guidance, and supervision over all matters pertaining to the formulation, review, approval, and execution of selected Special Access Program acquisition plans, policies, and programs.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Systems Security Engineer provides expertise to assist SAF/SQ with fulfilling responsibilities as the Department of the Air Force (DAF) lead for space acquisition and capability integration activities, in collaboration with the offices of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SAF/AQ), and the Chief of Space Operations.
The Senior Systems Security Engineer primarily supports the SAF/SQ Special Programs Chief as part of the space Special Access Program (SAP) management team responsible for acquiring highly classified space systems and promoting their integration into a system of systems meeting warfighter requirements.
Working as a member of a diverse team, the Senior Systems Security Engineer will:
Develop, implement and maintain SAF/SQ SAP systems security architecture designed to serve as a roadmap for Space SAPs from program establishment through transition to operations Evaluate technical and programmatic SAP packages for impacts to the larger SAP security architecture and provides assessment of whether they meet the appropriate mix of measures to protect the program, system information, and technologies Participate in independent programmatic and technical risk assessments and propose risk mitigation measures to improve program execution Research, document, and report on security issues and emerging threats Develop and sustain productive working relationships with security Share security information with selected partners, develop and sustain pro and garner support for enhanced security improvements Prepare and deliver executive level briefings, reports, and summary papers; explain complex concepts in relatively simple language; summarize key decisions; and provide recommendations supported by analysis.
Required Skills and
Experience:
Master's degree plus 20 or more yrs.
applicable experience (experience may be substituted for education, or education for experience at the sole discretion of the customer) 10 or more years Special Access Program and/or Controlled Access Program (CAP) security management, program protection and/or and policy development experience (preferably with the most recent experience occurring within the last 5 years) A current Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for SCI is required for this position.
Comprehensive understanding of DoD weapon system acquisition and Systems Engineering processes Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and writing) skills.
Must have experience in using critical thinking to prepare written reports and presentations for executive-level officials Demonstrated deep understanding of Security Architecture, Information Assurance, Security Compliance, and SAP Security, both from a technical as well as business process perspective Demonstrated understanding of the threats and vulnerabilities associated with Information (program and system information), Technology (Critical Program Information), and Components (mission-critical functionality) as well as key protection activities Demonstrated initiative and ability to plan, work and deliver, both independently and as part of a diverse team focused on delivering essential national security capabilities to the joint warfighter Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointPreferred Skills and
Experience:
Master's degree in a technical field, such as Systems Engineering Experience as a SAP Program Element Monitor Headquarters Air Force (SAF, AF, or SF) staff experience within the past 5 years Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Service HQ, or Director-level staff at a DoD Agency or in the Intelligence Community Experience relevant to National Security Space (NSS) acquisition program management (e.
