Softwise Solutions is seeking a FOIA Analyst to support their DOD client in Arlington, VA.
The scope of this requirement is to provide the DOD client with Freedom of Information Act Support.
Required Degree:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business, political science, management or related field.
High School Diploma.
Required Relevant Years of
Experience:
At least two (2) years of experience in conducting research & and searches and analyzing the contents of responsive records to make a disclosure determination under the FOIA or Privacy Act of 1974.
Required Years of
Experience:
At least two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act laws, policies, and regulations.
At least two (2) years of experience and knowledge of FOIA practices and updating SOPs and manuals to support standard case files, including updating and maintaining templates and formats and ensuring final packaging and accurate and current.
At least one (1) year of experience using MS Office including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
At least one (1) year of experience using G-Suite:
Gmail, G-Chat, G-Calendar, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, & and Forms.
At least one (1) year of experience using Virtual Meeting tools such as Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, etc.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Active SECRET Clearance.
Prior experience working with DOD.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will provide Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), records information management (RIM) support services which include information collection (electronic and paper) management program, records management, privacy act, and civil liberties.
Implement and maintain the PA information collection management program.
Serve as an advisor to program managers on matters concerning information requirements.
Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) requests by retrieving and redacting electronic records.
Serve as the focal point of contact for all FOIA requests and actions within the organization.
Manage, track and complete all FOIA actions assigned to the client.
Maintain a FOIA request tracking system.
Enter requests, responsive records and supporting documents into the FOIA tracking system.
Prepare and submit required FOIA reports.
Perform basic administrative FOIA functions such as document searches, scanning and redacting.
Process and submit DD form 2086 Record of Freedom of Information (FOI) Processing cost and fees for all FOIA requests.
Conduct searches and reviews related to FOIA requests on both client systems and devices.
Document results on required forms.
Maintain a log to track requests for responsive records completes action within the designated timeframes and deadlines.
Research problems and review issues related to FOIA requests, clarify issues and evaluate the need for additional information.
Follow internal and external DoD FOIA procedures to complete FOIA requests and support efforts to clear FOIA backlogs.
Assist client FOIA POCs with the tracking and submission of FOIA packages.
Make updates to FOIA SOPs as required.
Work with legal advisors, release authorities, action officers and FOIA liaisons on the release of information and proposed responses.
Identify search parameters and search terms (using Boolean logic), using FOIA forms and supplemental search documents.
Coordinate FOIA training as required.
Adhere to DoD Directive 5400.
07, Federal laws, executive orders and other policies/FOIA guidance within the Department.
Submit legal sufficiency review forms to the Enterprise Service Provider.
Use the investigative search request form to conduct searches and reviews within the client environment.
Reviews and searches include all issued gov't systems, (but are not limited to) electronic documents, network drives, mailboxes, and mobile devices in the client environments.
Utilize the SD472 for recording disclosure/non-disclosure determination associated with processing a FOIA or Privacy Act request and to document the record search.
Submit completed SD472 and supporting documentation to approval/denial authority for signature.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
