(Flexible) Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Security Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain robust encryption strategies for mainframe systems.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of mainframe systems, encryption protocols, and security best practices, along with a proven track record of designing and implementing effective encryption solutions.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
o Proven experience working with mainframe systems and designing encryption strategies in a complex enterprise environment.
o In-depth knowledge of encryption protocols, cryptographic algorithms, and security standards such as AES, RSA, SHA, and/or SSL/TLS.
o Familiarity with mainframe security technologies, including RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret, and experience implementing encryption solutions within these frameworks.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security challenges and develop effective solutions.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills (not required):
o Previous experience leading or participating in large-scale encryption implementation projects.
o Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in the field of encryption and data security.
o Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Encryption Specialist (CES) are highly desirable, but not required.
Responsibilities:
o Develop and implement comprehensive encryption strategies for mainframe systems, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and compliance with industry regulations.
o Conduct thorough assessments of existing encryption protocols, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and proposing effective solutions to enhance data security.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate encryption solutions seamlessly into existing mainframe infrastructure while minimizing disruptions to business operations.
o Stay abreast of emerging security threats and industry best practices, continuously evaluating and updating encryption strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
o Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on encryption-related issues, offering expertise and training to ensure the proper implementation and management of encryption protocols.
o Perform regular audits and assessments to monitor the effectiveness of encryption measures, promptly addressing any identified weaknesses or gaps in security.
