00 a year 4 hours ago 4 hours ago 4 hours ago Position Information Arlington County's Department of Parks and Recreation Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center is hiring a Customer Service Representative.
This position reports to an Assistant Manager and will provide an array of administrative and customer service support to patrons regarding a variety of programs and services available.
The Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center has a 50-meter pool with 1-meter, 3-meter, and 5-meter diving, a whirlpool, and two bulkheads to create more opportunities in the pool.
The 50-meter pool is FINA compliant for long and short course competitive swimming, water polo, and synchronized swimming.
This facility also houses a family friendly pool.
This pool includes a splash pad for tots, a water slide, four (4) 25-yard lap lane areas for swim classes and lessons, in-water volleyball & basketball, and a lazy river.
The Center also includes an 8,000-sf.
fitness center with a variety of cardio and fitness equipment.
There is a fitness studio, three community rooms, and two wet-classrooms for fitness classes, parties, and gatherings.
Outdoors includes 10.
5 acres of new parkland for casual use, the extension of the esplanade, and outdoor space for festivals and special events.

Specific duties include:
Providing customer service and front desk reception services to members, users and visitors at the community center and by phone, including responding to requests for information, directing visitors to the appropriate locations, and communicating public transit availability; Managing contacts that originate from different sources including in-person visits, telephone and website, including answering telephones and routing phone calls; Providing administrative support such as fitness and membership processing, program and camp registration, facility scheduling, collecting and recording payments, and fee reduction processing; Creating documents and maintaining data in spreadsheets, and other software to create visually appealing materials/signs; Utilizing the Department of Parks and Recreation Scheduling and Registration, and Payment software RecTrac, to facilitate transactions and accept and process payments with credit cards, checks and cash; Opening/Closing of the building and performing room setups/take downs; Performing some cleaning in workplace and facility; and Responding to emergency situations as appropriate by following emergency plans.
The ideal candidates will have exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively, and be adept at providing high level customer service with discretion when dealing with the public.
Selection Criteria Minimum:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; plus Some experience providing administrative support.
Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, and AED within 30 days of hire.
Substitution:
Successful completion of college coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Desirable:
Preference may be given to candidates who possess experience in one or more of the following:
Front desk customer service; Strong knowledge of RecTrac or similar web-based scheduling, registration, and payment system; Competent skills in using Microsoft Office Suite; and/or CPR, AED and/or First Aid Certification(s).
Special Requirements A pre-hire background check may be required on all candidates selected for employment.

criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and/or credit history.

Additional Information Work Hours:
This is a 40 hour/week position.
The facility's operating hours are Monday-Friday 5am-10pm, Saturday 6am-8pm, and Sunday 8am-8pm.
Schedules may vary based on the facility's operations and event schedule and the incumbent may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays on occasion.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
