Practice Lead, State Tax

Bloomberg Tax seeks a Practice Lead to manage a team that designs, edits, and produces substantive content and analysis for our tax research platform.
Because the Practice Lead will serve as a subject matter expert in state taxation, we are seeking a tax attorney or an accountant with substantive experience who is interested in putting that experience to work in a technology-driven environment.
The Practice Lead will also facilitate the team s collaboration with other functions in Bloomberg Tax, including marketing, customer experience, product, and operations.
The Practice Lead will manage and coach a team of tax law analysts to work hard and smart while ensuring that the team s content and analysis are accurate and current.

Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelops and manages a project-based team of analysts to create and deliver accurate and timely tax law content, analysis and tools for tax professionals.
Leads project planning, execution and reporting for the team s practice area.
Collaborates with key stakeholders to achieve business unit objectives.
Serves as subject matter expert for the practice area.
Anticipates the needs of tax professionals according to established best practices and the evolving tax landscape in order to shape the development of tax products.
Acts as a face of Bloomberg Tax in the market through interactions with law school, accounting firm, law firm, government, and corporate leaders.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Job RequirementsExcellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability for project-based work, with the ability to function across teams as either a leader or contributor.
Strong understanding of state tax law.
Strong knowledge of target tax and accounting markets.
Strong written, verbal and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to and facilitate change.
Self-driven individual who sets high standards of performance for self and others and leads by personal example.
Must be adept at working directly with experts across corporate, law firm, university and government organizations.
Familiarity with the Bloomberg Tax platform.
Education and ExperienceBachelor s degree required.
Advanced degree or commensurate professional experience - CPA or J.
D.

in taxation desired.
Minimum 5
years tax experience and demonstrated success leading or mentoring others.
Diverse experience as an individual contributor in relevant roles.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
