ObjectiveResponsiveTrustedThe Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international marketsJOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issuesThe Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID provides the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) technical expertise for decision support to ensure technical overmatch for the U.SArmed Forces against any potential adversariesOur team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled exploring cutting-edge technology and helping government program managers evaluate, select, and manage research programs to transition promising technologies and ensure U.Smilitary forces retain technological superiority in the futureSPA has an immediate need for a Deputy Team Lead for Commercial Strategy to provide onsite support in Arlington, VAResponsibilities The Commercial Strategy Deputy Team Lead will work as part of an exciting team to provide expert business, technology advancement, and commercialization support in a demanding, and fast-paced professional environmentPrimary objectives are to support the Chief of Staff in establishing and managing Commercial Strategy operations and oversee the coordination and execution of priority commercialization initiatives to advance the Commercial Strategy missionWill provide proven experience influencing Federal budgeting, managing Front Office operations for a Federal agency, and deploying technologies for the DoD/ICWork closely with the Chief of Staff to provide executive support and strategic and operational guidance in executing the Commercial Strategy missionSupport the Chief of Staff in establishing and managing Commercial Strategy operations including supervising the execution of core commercialization initiativesOversee Tech-to-Market Team operations by serving as the Front Office coordinator for the Embedded Entrepreneurship Initiative (EEI), DARPA Commercial Accelerators, New Ventures, and Commercial Strategy special projectsLead cross-functional teams to drive strategic Commercial Strategy projectsServe as a liaison to Commercial Strategy stakeholders including DIRO leadership, performers, tech offices, commercial entrepreneurs, investors, academia, DoD, and other government partners to strengthen relationships and accelerate commercialization opportunitiesProvide expert counsel on DoD budget and Congressional appropriations processesDirect Commercial Strategy communications in coordination with the Communications Lead to implement the Front Office communications strategyManage the development of correspondence, briefing materials, and preparation of Commercial Strategy leadership for all internal and external engagementsEnsure compliance with DARPA and DoD policies, regulations, and security standardsQualifications Required Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degreeo Active TS/SCI clearanceo 10
years of relevant experience advising and supporting principals in Congress, Executive Agencies, and DoD on national and economic security prioritieso 3
years of experience directly serving a Cabinet-level Front Office or Executive Office officialo Demonstrated record of managing cross-functional teams, executing communications plans, and advising a Cabinet-level official to advance Front Office strategic prioritieso Proven history influencing the Congressional appropriations process including experience directing executive funding decisions for national security and emerging technology priorities at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB)o Prior experience establishing a DoD/IC agency accelerator program including developing the program strategy and securing the budgeto Previous success establishing and expanding interagency and industry partnerships to accelerate transition and commercialization of DoD/IC technologieso Excellent analytic, communication, and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex and technical conceptso Strong leadership skills along with strategic vision to effectively implement strategies, balance competing priorities, and meet operational objectives in a dynamic environment
Qualifications:
