Ocean Bay, LLC, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, has an opening for a highly motivated Chemist located in Arlington, VA
Responsibilities:
o Providing leadership guidance on technical and on scientific matters to the Drug and Chemical Evaluation Section, Diversion Control Division.
o Maintaining, initiating, and forming liaison with scientists, public health and law enforcement officials, and other professionals, nationally and internationally, to orient them to the priorities of drugs of abuse and diversion of chemicals.
o Serving as authority on organic chemistry related to drugs of abuse.
,o Providing subject matter expertise in the field of chemistry on technical matters.
o Participating in inter- and intra-agency meetings and scientific conferences concerning drug issues and chemical control.
o Analyzing drug abuse, chemical diversion indicators, and other technical data.
o Support the efforts Informing and defending agency policies on drug and chemical control issues to worldwide professionals, industry, scientific community and other agencies.
o Support the formulation of recommendations of immediate and long range policies by developing and monitoring drug abuse and chemical diversion.
o Support the development of information for policy decisions and Drug/chemical regulations, based on drug scheduling and chemical diversion issues.
o Participating in the drafting and recommending positions on assigned drug scheduling issues.
o Participating in tasks/projects that propose agency policy relative to drug scheduling and chemical control, based on organic chemical considerations.
o Support the preparations of technical guidance used by domestic and international drug and chemical Requirements:
o Ph.
Din chemistry or physical sciences, that included 20 semester hours in organic chemistry, supplemented by course work in life sciences.
o Providing technical expertise in the field of organic chemistry related to CNS drugs and precursor chemicals.
o Understanding of regulatory policies as they relate to expertise in organic chemistry.
o Experience with drug scheduling and chemical control and providing scientific advice in these areas to the agency is preferred but not required.
o Experience monitoring and developing drug abuse data and chemical diversion data is preferred but not required.
o Organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biological sciences with experience in organic synthesis,o Experience in technical writing and oral presentationo Federal regulations experience is a plus Security Requirements:
