The Director of Fisheries Policy will play a critical role in achieving these goals by working closely with the COO, leadership team, and the greater Fish Forever partnership to plan and implement a wide-ranging program to create the enabling environment for Fish Forever around the world. S/he will be responsible for executing the strategy to guide the development of fisheries policy, partner (e.g. bilateral and multilateral institutions) priorities, and international financial flows to support sustainable fisheries projects in target areas for Fish Forever.

The Director, Fisheries Policy will have a unique opportunity to lead the policy elements of the Fish Forever strategy and play a critical role advancing our work towards sustainable near shore fisheries management worldwide. The Director will lead in the following areas:
Design and implement a comprehensive strategy to guide any local or national level policy change necessary for Fish Forever to achieve its goals. Advise and provide technical support to regional staff and other stakeholders as appropriate in order to coordinate execution of the strategy.
Communicate and coordinate project goals, objectives, and the vision for Fish Forever's policy strategy within Rare and the Fish Forever partnership and facilitate implementation, knowledge transfer, and communications between the three core partners on policy issues.
Develop an understanding of financial flows in support of fisheries management, and devise policy strategies to direct finances in support of Fish Forever objectives.
Influence global policy forums, as part of well-coordinated policy and fundraising strategies adopted by the Global Development team, by representing Rare before government agencies and special interest groups and connecting with key fisheries leaders to build support for Fish Forever.
Design strategies for promoting Fish Forever success stories and highlighting successful change agents to influential audiences to build backing for Fish Forever.

What does it take to join the team?
We are seeking a dynamic global policy advisor based in Arlington, VA with the following
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10
years of demonstrated successes in convening key stakeholders and guiding policy change, preferably in the fisheries management arena.
Experience with current political, socio-economic and conservation trends and issues affecting fisheries globally, with detailed knowledge of at least one Fish Forever country (Belize, Brazil, Indonesia, Mozambique, and the Philippines).
Proven accomplishments in influencing fisheries policy, preferably with experience in one or more of the Fish Forever countries.
Demonstrated success in preparing and presenting policy and project proposals to, and/or negotiating with federal, state, local government representatives.
Proven success building effective and lasting relationships with development partners/government agencies, without violating any restrictions related to conflicts of interest, lobbying former employers, or influencing decision makers; knowledge of lobbying laws and regulations is essential.
Exceptional stakeholder management, communications and influencing skills. Ability to operate in politically sensitive/charged environments and agility to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities.
Ability to motivate and manage teams, including conflict resolution.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
