Helios is conducting a search for a Human Resources Generalist for our client based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Our client is the nation's leading nonprofit provider of training and job services for adults age 55 and over, through the Senior Community Service Employment Program. They provide services to low-income older adults in thousands of communities in 30 states and Puerto Rico. Their largest program serves about 30,000 people annually, many in rural communities.

The Human Resources Generalist administers various human resources plans and procedures for all organization personnel. The incumbent must be able to function independently and complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner. The HR Generalist maintains official and confidential employment records and performs all aspects of human resources related duties for day to day administration at the professional level and in functional HR areas to include: employee relations, training, benefits administration, recruitment support, HRIS data entry and reporting, coordination of payroll, on-boarding of new employees, performance management administration, and exit interviews.

Primary
Responsibilities:

Assists in development and implementation of human resources programs, policies and procedures in partnership with executive leadership
Participates in audits of company HR practices and assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to address opportunities for improvement
Participates in policy interpretation and development; develop and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual
Conducts segments of the new hire orientation and processes all forms required to establish new employees on the payroll, benefits, and information systems
Coordinates new employee onboarding schedule with Hiring Manager, Facilities, IT, Training, and other stakeholders
Provides coaching and guidance to managers regarding employee performance and development needs
Administers compensation program
Coordinates performance management program in accordance with regular schedule for assessment and provide input on objectives; administer performance management cycle and provide support for employee performance conflict resolution
Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees
Reviews, reconcile and process invoices for benefits carriers; prepare and maintain related benefits records and reports
Responsible for maintaining and updating employee information, including processing new hires, terminations, and change in employee status
Administer STD, LTD and leave of absence programs, monitoring for compliance
Responsible for employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing
Processes employment verifications
Assists in the creation and coordination organizational recognition programs
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment; maintains compliance of human resources files and electronic record keeping
Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
Administers Applicant Tracking System
Coordinates and conducts employment interviews as deemed necessary
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars for continued professional development
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.



Required Education and
Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field
3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience
PHR Certification preferred
Some training in employment law preferred
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration; multi-state HR administration experience preferred
Ability to build strong relationships across the organization to support employee and management human resources needs
Ability to work with confidential/sensitive information with the highest levels of professionalism and discretion
Demonstrates respect and professionalism in all internal and external communications
Displays professional and courteous initiative and flexibility in response to multiple demands and assignments from various team member
Proficient with Microsoft Suite and HRIS systems

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
