JOB TITLE: Navy OPNAV Action Officer - Strategic Communications Support
PROJECT Overview:
The US Navy headquarters staff at the Pentagon, known as OPNAV, supports the Chief of Naval Operations in his mission to support the warfighter by setting requirements, budgeting resources, and managing programs for many different Navy programs. The Surface Warfare Directorate, OPNAV N96, fulfills these tasks for some of the nation's most important defense programs.
This position presents an opportunity to directly support Surface Warfare Directorate and the CNO in achieving success for these programs. This position offers the chance to help manage multi-million dollar defense programs and interact daily with senior Flag officers, civil servants, and other decision-makers in the high-intensity and exciting Pentagon environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic analysis for the Director of Surface Warfare
Develop and manage the Surface Warfare communications strategy.
Prepare presentations and talking points for N96 flag officers.
Prepare responses to Congressional-related tasks and briefings.
Coordinate strategic communications and public affairs products with N96 staff, Navy and OSD, and other civilian public affairs staffs.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND
Qualifications:
5 years of strategic communications support
Experience with Navy Surface Warfare portfolio
Active Secret Clearance
Proficient with MS Office Suite
DESIRED SKILLS AND
Qualifications:
Familiarity with DOD or OSD strategic communications
WORK LOCATION: Washington, DC
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Secret
TRAVEL: 5%Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
