Opower is looking for a talented and motivated graphic designer to join our Content & Design team. We want someone who's got creative drive, outstanding design skills, the ability to strategize, and an Owesome attitude. This is a great opportunity for a designer with a focus on social impact who believes you can create real change through good design.
As a graphic designer you'll work under the direction of the Lead Design Strategist and collaborate with the design team to support the design needs of Opower''s Consumer and Corporate Marketing teams.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with copywriters, behavioral science experts, and program strategists to take consumer-facing, utility-branded collateral from concept to final production.
Create full-scale design campaigns for new client-facing solutions such as Demand Response and our Small/Medium Business program
Create new designs to enhance our existing utility-branded products such as Home Energy Reports and Welcome Letters
Collaborate with the Lead Design Strategist to create top-notch design experiences for events that include environmental graphics, web design, printed collateral, video concepts, and swag
Create modern & fresh branding for internal Opower needs as well as global Opower product campaigns.
Create exceptional presentation materials for our Executive, Sales, and Solutions Marketing teams.
About You
3
years of related experience creating marketing brochures, campaign collateral, environmental graphics, and corporate identity elements, and other products using the latest technologies
A BA or BFA in design or related field from a top university
Ability and desire to work independently and serve as a point of contact for design projects
Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Expertise in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Working knowledge of four-color printing, contemporary web practices and large-format printing
Digital Illustration skills are a plus
You don't need to be a professional copywriter, but should be comfortable whipping copy into shape--or collaborating with a copywriter to do so--when it just isn't meshing with your designs

Your portfolio has a clean, iconic, borderline minimalist design aesthetic. You geek out over grid systems and have a strong appreciation for good typography. You pay extremely close attention to detail -- you find yourself critiquing movie posters, advertisements, and menus when you go out with your friends. No matter the task, you''re not afraid to have fun in your design and take some risks.
