This position is located in the Office of Resource Management; Arlington, VA.
The incumbent will perform the following duties:
Analyze data extracted for management information systems. Uses common statistical software such as STATA, SAS to analyze statistical information. Provide advice on collecting drug-related data to monitor DEA field entities.
Plans and executes internal review studies of related line functions and/or programs with technically complex characteristics. Assesses program compliance with DEA goals and proposes changes based on study findings.
Analyzes program data and prepares program status reports for review at all levels. Assists in the organization, coordination, and preparation of segments of DEA Quarterly and Annual Statistical Reports. Uses ArcGIS to produce analytic maps of geospatial information. Prepares preliminary statistical analyses, or detailed and complete inspection reports summarizing mathematical models, sample surveys, quantitative materials, and all relevant drug control and Federal law enforcement program information. Documents study conditions, data restrictions, or other relevant information and supporting documents for supervisor's review and use in presentations, recommendations, or legal actions, utilizing a thorough knowledge of statistics and of agency laws, regulations, policies, and precedents.
Organizes and conducts studies, or study segments, to correlate or analyze statistical information, to develop new methodologies or procedures, or to evaluate existing systems, methodologies, and related matters. Conducts portions of a broad project involving data collection and/or analysis. Participates as a team member on system development efforts. Provides advice on the design and development of statistical systems to monitor the activities of DEA field entities, and those of federal, state, and local agencies.
GS-09: You must have one year (1) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 Federal grade level performing duties such as utilizing statistical software such as STATA and SAS to analyze statistical data; assisting in analyzing statistical software to analyze law-enforcement data while affecting policy; and preparing statistical reports for recommendations of changes in methodology and procedures within the agency with detailed instruction.

Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in in a major area of study related to this position or a LL.B or J.D.
GS-11: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 Federal grade level performing duties such as utilizing statistical software such as STATA and SAS to analyze statistical data; Employ statistical software to analyze law-enforcement data while affecting policy; preparing statistical reports for recommendations of changes in methodology and procedures within the agency; and providing advice and on the information the collection of drug-related data.

Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or (3) three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in one of the following major study areas: electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, or industrial management; or LL.M., if related.
