CSC is hiring for a VTC Engineer who is able to design and engineer complex requirements to existing customer infrastructure in a cost effective manner. The ideal candidate needs to be a subject matter expert and be able to articulate expertly solutions through written or verbal methods. Has the ability to trouble shoot complex problems quickly and effectively. Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and be willing to work in Arlington, VA.
Essential Job Functions
Successful candidate needs to be able to design and implement complex VTC solutions using on-premise systems (Tandberg/Cisco for teleconferencing and vBrick for streaming video content).
The candidate needs to be a SME-level engineer well versed in video signal processing and forwarding, distributed multi-site VTC solutions, on-permise and cloud-based video converencing and collaboration technologies
Able to articulate expertly designs, ideas, concepts and solutions through written or verbal methods.
The VTC Engineer must be able to troubleshoot complex problems quickly and effectively, optimize and improve existing VTC infrastructure
Work with vendors and resident engineering and operations staff to achieve system performance objectives. vBrick Network Certified Engineer certification strongly desired.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
Nine or more years of experience in networks, LAN/WAN or management information systems
Experience working with multiple technical platforms (e.g.; mainframe, two-tiered client-server, three-tiered client-server) and multiple network systems (e.g.; Novell, Windows NT, etc)
Experience working with network systems and networking principles, data, voice or video
Experience working with network software and hardware, data, voice or video
Experience working with proprietary software and hardware
Possess Department of Defense (DoD) security access and/or security clearance
Other Qualifications
7 years of engineering experience
Experience with vBrick
Experience with Cisco Routers switches
Experience with Networking protocols
Experience with Tandberg
Strong analytical skills
Able to assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to multi-task without sacrificing attention to details
Able to work effectively with other groups and teams
Must be able to come up to speed on new project areas quickly as this role will grow quickly
vBrick Network Certified Engineer certification strongly desired.
