USIT is looking for an Oracle/PeopleSoft DBA to join our team.
This DBA role requires:
Service-oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment within the SLAs timeframe.
The DBA must be good at establishing and maintaining communication with technology to keep the updated with the database environment.
Weekly status report due to the customer to keep them updated with the status of ticket requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
Must be available to provide after-hours 24x7 database support, engineering and consulting for the clients as needed.
Engineer, implement and support high availability solutions using Oracle Data Guard, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Streams, Oracle Advanced Replication and specific network storage and clustering solutions.
Design a proof of concept environment to facilitate functionality testing and features, build pilot environments that mirrored production and provide a detailed migration plans to migrate the current production VERITAS cluster to the new Oracle RAC environments.
Position-Specific
Qualifications:
Engineer, implement and support Oracle PeopleSoft environment.
Transfer application data between PeopleSoft databases.
Move PeopleSoft databases across operating systems and database platforms using the Data Mover tool.
Execute Structured Query Language (SQL) statements against any PeopleSoft database, regardless of the underlying operating system or database platform.
Control database security and access.
Create, edit, and run scripts.
These scripts may include any combination of SQL commands, and PeopleSoft Data Mover commands for exporting and importing data.
General Required
Qualifications:
3-5
years' experience with Database maintenance including monitoring and maintenance tasks
Familiarity with architecture, both logical and physical design
Design and build new database structures
Ability to perform backup and recovery tasks
Experience with applying patches and upgrading database versions
Hands-on ability with installation and building database structures
Proficiency developing and maintaining shell scripts as well as programming in PL/SQL
Experience with queries and performance tuning
Proficiency in RAC, Data Guard, and ASM
Familiarity with RMAN
Proven ability to develop and maintain documentation
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical

Must be able and willing to undergo a government background check that will include extensive criminal and financial history investigation
Must be able to work onsite in Arlington, VA
