The focus of the position is to maintain operation of multi-user computer systems and servers, work in coordination with network administrators and engineers. Responsibilities may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. It is the duty of the Systems Administrator to evaluate vendor products and makes recommendations on hardware and software purchase, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. This individual will develop and execute policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. She/he will execute all procedures necessary to make sure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
