Mission Statement The Pentagon Building Management Office is responsible for day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Pentagon, which has a gross floor area of 6,546,360 square feet and which houses approximately 25,000 Federal employees assigned to 14 agencies of the Department of Defense. The tenants of the Pentagon include cabinet level officers, heads of agencies and commissions and high ranking officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force who are responsible for planning, and directing our country's national, defense programs and operations from the Pentagon.

As aMaintenance Mechanic Leader you will be responsible for the following duties:
Perform full range of asbestos and lead abatement work and roof repairs
Conduct asbestos encapsulation and decontamination at building sites where asbestos insulation and mechanical system duck work, piping and plaster ceiling require repair or removal
Repair utility systems, electrical, plumbing and carpentry work
Set work pace and assign specific tasks to each member of the group
Inspect work performed during each phase for quality and compliance with instructions
Report to the foreman on the status of work and causes for delays in accomplishing assigned jobs
Per OPM Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, the applicant's experience, education and training must show enough knowledge, skills and abilities to demonstrate the potential to successfully perform the duties of the position. Under this system, how applicants gained their skill and knowledge or the length of time they have spent in a line of work are not as important as the fact that they have the required ability or potential to do the job. This job has one critical element, called the screen-out element (SOE). Education may not be substituted for experience for this position.
Works on hard surfaces or at benches or where materials on supports. May work from ladders, scaffolding and platforms, and where the parts of the systems worked on are in hard to reach places. Require to stand, stoop, bend, kneel climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment, and parts that weigh 50 to 100 pounds.
Work is done inside and outside and is usually noisy, dirty greasy, or smoky. Exposed to the possibility of broken bones, electrical shock, burns, welding flashes, and falling from ladders. Exposed to the possibility of cuts and bruises. Subject to fumes while working with paints and solvents. Subject to extreme weather conditions. May be required to wear protective clothing and equipment that may be confining, restricting, and uncomfortable.
May be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays. This position is designated as an Emergency position and may be subject to call back 24 hours a day.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
