PAE is currently seeking a
Biosafety Manager to support a Humanitarian Assistance Mission in Liberia.
The
Biosafety Manager :
Provides professional expertise in the evaluation and control of biological hazards at the program level.
Is responsible for overall biosafety across multiple medical care units and contractor support camps within the framework of USAID's Humanitarian Assistance Mission in Liberia.
Is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and maintaining 24/7 surveillance of safe practices and procedures (protocols) in clinical and nonclinical operations at medical treatment units and contractor support camps
Ensures compliance of protocols and monitoring with Doctors without Borders Haemorrhagic Fever Guidelines and World Health Organization Clinical Management of Patients with Viral Haemorrhagic Fever: Pocket Guide for Front-Line Health Worker (WHO/HSE/PED/AIP/14.05)
Coordinates biosafety activities with U.S., foreign and international organizations, as required by the contract.
Oversees and coordinates with the on-site QC/Safety Managers.

Qualifications:
Must be a Registered Biosafety Professional (RBP), or hold a Master's Degree with 10 years of directly relevant experience or a PhD with 5 years of experience in biological sciences (i.e., microbiology, bacteriology, virology etc.), and have in-depth knowledge of biosafety and biosecurity guidelines for BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratory as described in CDC's Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) 5.
Requires experience working with biological select agents or toxins (BSATs) under BSL-2 and BSL-3 protocols in laboratory conditions (field conditions preferred).
Must have the analytical, writing, and public speaking skills necessary to: provide written assessment of existing infrastructure, equipment, procedures, operations and management and provide recommendations for changes; author Standard Operating Procedures/protocols for safe laboratory operations; and directly interface with U.S. and foreign government stakeholders in formal and informal settings.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops is required.
Familiarity in working with USAID and CDC policies, procedures, and regulations is desired.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
