Summary:
Currently seeking an energetic, dynamic and resourceful Database Engineer to join a fast growing IT firm working on cutting-edge technologies. He/She will provide all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. They must be able to communicate with management, technicians, and end-users to evaluate need prior to development of an automated solution. They prepare detailed reports which might include system requirements such as concurrent usage factors, data storage requirements, response rates, and discuss procedures for processing data through the use of Database Management Systems (DBMS) including relational databases. They project long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. The Senior Database Engineer designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment. The conduct quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. They advise users on access to various client/server databases.
Additionally, the Database Engineer designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, and validation checks. They are also responsible for organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. This position requires regular and active engagement with various DoD Stakeholders regarding the technical assessment, review, and mitigation of foreign investments in the defense industrial base.
Responsibilities:
Analyze, evaluate and implement improvements to business systems and processes.
Create and maintain process documentation and identify opportunities for improvement.
Define, document and prioritize requirements for business applications, develop project plans and detailed schedules.
Manage user acceptance process to validate designs, including creating test scripts for testing new functionality and leading end user testing teams.
Provide or participate in training activities related to business applications & processes.
Support the development of RBAs and mitigation terms to address foreign investment risk associated with product integrity, supply assurance, collocation, and technology transfer.
Manage issues & collaborate with technical resources to ensure resolution is received.
Providing production support maintaining, troubleshooting, and problem solving with existing State Fund business programs and systems.
Develop and maintain standard procedures for the technical assessment, review, and mitigation of foreign investments in the defense industrial base.
Create new applications, programs and/or interfaces in order to resolve problems.
Perform data analysis to support evaluation of system defects or to develop requirements for new functionality; triage and troubleshoot complex user-reported system defects; assist in various system trouble shooting and balancing and correction efforts including analysis, verification and validation of issues and fixes.
Conduct impact analysis of technology changes on business processes and existing technology.
Demonstrate a high level of subject matter expertise in functional area to bridge business requirements and IT solutions; provide technical direction and ensure compliance with best practice solutions.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree with a specialty in engineering. A master's degree is highly preferred.
Four years
of experience with 3GL and/or 4GL/web programming languages
Four years
experience with relational database design and data security
Familiar with data warehousing from design phases through implementation and maintenance
Must be familiar with Internet business models and technologies
Proficiency in one or more 4GL languages such as Microsoft Visual Basic, Visual C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Visual FoxPro or similar
Proficiency in SQL, e.g. Microsoft Transact SQL
Proficiency in relational database design
Proficiency in database security procedures
Desirable Skills:
Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication abilities
Demonstrates independent thinking and decision-making abilities
Experience with Oracle Golden Gate, Data Guard, Materialized Views, and other forms of data propagation is very helpful
Good understanding of agile software development methodologies and the contrasts to waterfall methodologies
Prefer Candidates possess a Department of Defense SECRET security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: 120,000 USD AnnuallyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
