Coordinator, Peace and Development Partnerships Program

The Peace and Development Partnerships (PDP) Program promotes best practices in environmental peacebuilding based on principles grounded in the CI's Rights-based Approach (RBA) and social safeguards within the Policy Center for Environment and Peace ('The Policy Center'). PDP provides strategic direction, leadership, technical assistance and capacity building for the Policy Center, other CI Divisions and programs and for external partners on environmental peacebuilding, partnership building with development NGOs and other social dimensions of conservation. The Coordinator provides technical and operational support to PDP activities, including providing assistance with the implementation of CI's Environmental Peacebuilding Strategy; developing basic training packages in peace and conflict-sensitive conservation for CI staff and partners; leading PDP communication efforts; researching potential institutional partnerships with humanitarian, relief and development organizations; and conducting background research on fundraising prospects... RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical and administrative support to PDP's Environmental Peacebuilding initiative and outreach, including: provide technical and strategic input to the development of training materials for CI's internal capacity building on peace and conflict-sensitive conservation; identify potential partners, conduct research and engage with CI field programs to co-lead a program of work around the intersection of gender, peace and natural resource management, in close collaboration with the PDP Senior Director and SPP Gender Advisor conduct research on topics relevant to CI's environmental peacebuilding agenda; Provide technical and administrative support to PDP's Development Partnerships program and outreach, including: provide technical support to ABCG lead and Conservation South Africa complete deliverables under ABCG workplan on freshwater conservation and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), including providing technical input on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks and practices; Support completion of tasks related to freshwater conservation and WASH working group Support PDP fundraising and communications efforts including producing content for PDP articles, blogs and other CI internal and external communication efforts; Perform administrative and logistical tasks associated with PDP program objectives and respond to requests for information relating to ongoing PDP tasks. QUALIFICATIONS Required Attention to detail and the ability to operate independently to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints. High school or secondary education and 2+ years of experience Good judgement, the willingness to take initiative and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Ability to effectively track and coordinate multiple projects. Solid computer skills including Microsoft office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Personal interest in international conservation and development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Four-year college degree. Advanced degree in environmental policy, peace & conflict studies, international development, etc. One to two years of work experience in a relevant field. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
