The National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS) is an integrated system of intrusion detection, analytics, intrusion prevention, and information sharing capabilities that are used to defend the Federal Executive Branch's IT infrastructure from cyber threats. NCPS is housed within the Network Security Deployment (NSD) Division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
CSRA provides NSD with operations and maintenance support to sustain NCPS cybersecurity capabilities.
We are currently seeking an experienced System Engineer with hands on knowledge of Windows in Arlington, VA. This position requires the chosen candidate to have an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Essential Job Functions
Designs and develops integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance.
Performs and evaluates cost analyses and vendor comparisons of software/hardware systems to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations and measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations.
Analyzes potential systems investments and prepares supporting documentation for recommendation(s) to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/life cycle issues.
Provides escalated technical support to customers by handling systems-related issues; may provide on-call technical support telephonically and/or electronically.
Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies and conducts testing to enhance performance.
Conducts moderately complex projects or phases of significant projects; coordinates the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects.
Applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques and assists in the development, implementation and documentation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with standard business practices. Develops and implements training tools and documentation.
Provides technical consultation on current and proposed systems to other organizations and clients.
Performs repairs, maintenance and upgrades of existing systems using solutions in accordance with standard operating procedures. Investigates and resolves matters of significance.
Provides work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Must be proficient in Altiris having two or more years of experience with Symantec Management Platform
Coordinates with client management to formulate highly complex technical solutions. Identifies and implements
solutions based on client needs. Informs client management of appropriate developments in technical support products.
Provides technical leadership to internal and external personnel on highly complex system installation processes.
Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced personnel.
Provides technical leadership to appropriate personnel on highly complex system administration activities. Provides
technical solutions and escalated support for non-routine, highly complex technical issues.
Evaluates products and upgrades for appropriateness of cost and compatibility. Oversees and implements system
upgrade strategies.
Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly complex solutions. Coordinates activities with other
technical personnel as appropriate.
Develops and analyzes highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system
performance. Initiates reviews as appropriate.
Conducts capacity planning reviews with management and approves capacity plans formulated by less experienced
personnel. Develops strategies to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application. Monitors
database maintenance and provides appropriate recommendations, when required. Implements solutions and refines
procedures as appropriate.
Coordinates with business development personnel on proposals and work estimates involving highly complex system
administration projects and solutions.
Researches current systems technology and serves as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and
procedures. Conducts usability and costing studies.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
Seven or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming, or naval architecture.
Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas
Experience working with one or more structured programming languages
Experience working with design principles and applications
Experience as an IT Microsoft systems engineer in a LAN/WAN environment.
Microsoft Windows 2008 R2, Server 2012
Microsoft Windows 7/8/10
System hardening, vulnerability remediation, ISVMs, ICVAs, and DISA STIGs
VMware virtual environment

Knowledge and experience with compliance and vulnerability scans, and auditing for accreditation of systems.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
