Privacy Manager (Firm Internal)

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) provides professional and consultative services to our member firms across the globe. We develop, drive, and support the Global Strategy and Brand for the overall Deloitte organization. Employees of DTTL work on complex business projects that connect and serve client service practitioners around the world.
This position supports the DTTL Data Privacy Team (located within DTTL Risk) on global privacy and data protection compliance program management and related activities.
The selected candidate would have a manager level position focused on supporting the implementation and management of systems and processes to facilitate compliance with privacy and data protection regulations and internal policies which ensure support of key global business strategies and initiatives. This will include assisting in the annual privacy verification process, vendor due diligence and training and awareness activities.
The position is for a privacy professional who is looking to expand their knowledge through exposure to diverse and complex data privacy issues on a global basis and who can work independently to provide advice and guidance to our internal clients.
This position can be structured as a permanent role or as an 18-24 month secondment. Secondment are ideal for individuals who would like to gain global experience and return to their member firm when the assignment comes to an end. We will consider individuals based in the following locations where we have existing DTTL team members: London, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Toronto.
Job functions
Monitoring and evaluation of evolving laws, rules, regulations and guidance to help maintain compliance and strategic alignment.
Support periodic review of applicable data protection policies in light of changes in laws, regulatory or organizational policy.
Support the maintenance of appropriate data protection and privacy consent forms, privacy notices, disclaimers etc.
Participates in the development, maintenance and deployment of various data protection learning and awareness materials.
Supports the maintenance of the privacy incident response process and assessment of personal data exposure in accordance with legal, regulatory and organizational requirements.
Support data protection compliance reviews and oversee remediation activities.
Support monitoring of system/processes development for privacy and data protection compliance.
Support and the maintenance of vendor privacy due diligence. Support provision of information to global client's teams on global privacy strategy as part of bid support
Analysis and advice on privacy and data protection topics including EU laws, safe harbour, etc.
Ideal candidate will be someone working as a Privacy Specialist in one of our member firms
Knowledge of global privacy laws and requirements
Compliance/legal/risk experience
Independent judgment, ability to evaluate risk
Ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple duties
High level understanding of technology and security issues impacting data privacy programs
Problem solving, flexibility, initiative, ability to successfully multitask
Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail
Bachelor's Degrees (Law Degree preferred)
Minimum 5 years relevant experience
Ability to quickly gain understanding of internal business processes

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
