Transportation Research Manager

RSG is seeking an experienced project or senior manager to join our transportation survey research consulting practice. This position will be based in our Arlington, VA office or in another existing RSG office.
AS A TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH MANAGER
You lead transportation survey research projects, manage a deep and capable project team, perform client management, conduct business development, and proposal writing. You are proficient in data management and analysis. You conduct travel behavior research through household travel studies and other travel behavior surveys for the U.S. Department of Transportation, state departments of transportation, and metropolitan planning organizations. As a part of a growing team that is developing market changing approaches, you develop and implement innovative approaches to travel behavior research in partnership with RSG's model development and software engineering teams.
You are a self-motivated team player with practical skills in project management, business development, research design, sampling and data collection approaches. You work very well with clients and possess good interpersonal skills to represent the company, including; being able to communicate complex technical materials in a concise and meaningful ways to project team members and clients and ability to negotiate details of high profile projects. You are a resourceful, proactive, and clear and creative thinker, dedicated to high quality work.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in transportation, market research, statistics, math, economics, engineering, geography, business, or a similarly relevant field of study
10+ years of experience in the transportation, market research, or similar field using advanced analytic methods and tools
Efficient project manager of workflows and processes with the proven ability to manage multiple competing projects, priorities, and deadlines
Accomplished in technical and business writing
Proficient in statistical analysis, data management and presentation
Experience in survey sampling and weighting
Proficiency in relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Proficiency with using Python / ArcGIS
Experience or interest in GPS and smartphone data and technology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or advanced degree (or equivalent work experience) in transportation, market research, data analytics, statistics, math, economics, engineering, geography, business, or a similarly relevant field of study.
PMP or other project management certification/training

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
