Job Summary AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead strategic initiatives and business development to drive growth in federal markets. The Initiative Leader will be responsible for market analysis, strategy development, positioning, capture and management of key growth areas in the federal market. This includes development and execution of actionable plans to achieve strategic objectives. AECOM's National Governments Business line resides within AECOM's Design and Consulting Services Group, Americas. The National Governments business line is a client facing organization comprised of a team of senior professionals who work collaboratively across all of AECOM to provide seamless professional technical services to the US Government and other government entities in the Americas. With a global reach for US Government related projects overseas, the National Governments team provides fully integrated Professional Technical Services, we are able to design, build, finance and operate infrastructure assets around the world. Focused in the Federal Government market, the Strategic Initiative Leader will have a strong understanding of DOD and Federal Civilian Agency operations and acquisition programs. This requires a broad knowledge of facilities engineering and support programs. The position will involve engagement and coordination with thought leaders in key Federal areas which include resilience, critical infrastructure, weapon systems program support (OEM) from DOD/Federal clients, AECOM operations and subject matter experts, and with external partners. The Strategic Initiative Leader will have a broad knowledge of DOD and federal agencies and their requirements. The individual will have exceptional communication skills and analytical abilities to shape how AECOM can best support the client. The successful candidate will use their client relationship skills to provide AECOM-caliber client service in emerging areas. In addition, they will continue to monitor and anticipate the business needs of our key clients and to smartly offer technical and professional services that can help them grow their business. The Initiative Leader will gain cross-functional experience working with multiple parts of AECOM: Operations, Marketing, Support, Finance, Legal etc. The Initiative Leader brings a passion for developing and building Federal market business and is fully engaged in support the Construction Services and Management Services groups. The Strategic Initiative Leader will work the leadership team across regions and operating groups on initiates that are of strategic importance to AECOM. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Lead strategic initiatives and business development to drive growth in federal markets. + Assist with business development activities including pursuit initiation and management, teaming, proposal development and general marketing support + Develop forward thinking strategies, data-driven sales analyses, initiative action plans, and recommendations that align with our AECOM goals + Maintain situational awareness across all DOD/Federal clients + Lead major proposal efforts for strategic initiatives. + Report periodically to management on progress on strategic initiatives and performance against established goals/ performance metrics + Serve as a Client Account Managers (CAM) for DoD and Federal Intelligence Agencies to include, NSA, NRO, DIA, CIA, NGA, DNI, FBI and SOCOM regarding new projects/programs in order to verify and ensure that clients' needs are met or exceeded + Serve as a resource for other Client Account Managers (CAM) regarding new projects/programs in order to verify and ensure that clients' needs are met or exceeded + Coordinate with Regional Business Line Leaders (RBLL) regarding new projects/programs in order to align resources to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives. + Monitor client performance ratings and engage with the Client and AECOM operations in rectifying deficient performance + Direct company policies and resources to ensure availability of cleared personnel and operational security practices and infrastructure that will comply with the specific security requirements of these clients. + Coach and develop members of the account management team Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's degree in related field + 10+ years of relevant facilities engineering and program development experience + DOD/Federal Engineer service experience and/or industry experience serving DOD/Federal clients + Project management experience and ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously + Demonstrated success performing in a large matrixed organization + Strategic Planning experience and demonstrated ability to develop actionable plans to achieve strategic objectives + Demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management; self-starter + Exceptional relationship building/relationship management skills to establish rapport, trust and confidence with account team + Excellent written and oral communications skills and interpersonal skills + Strong problem solving and analytical skills + Detail oriented and the ability to adapt to changing environment + Energetic, enthusiastic and organized + Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills + Active Security Clearance (TS/SCI) with Poly + Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required + Must possess a valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications + A Master's degree which can substitute for up to two years of work experience + 15+ years of relevant facilities engineering and program development experience + Proposal or Business Development experience + Strong understanding of the Congressional Budget/ Appropriations life-cycle, and DoD POM process + Knowledge of DOD/Federal acquisition strategies- and experience with the component business line requirements spanning asset management, environmental, public works, capital improvements, and contingency engineering + Broad understanding of major defense acquisition programs and force structure realignments + Experience analyzing market conditions and developing corresponding business strategies + Knowledge of the A/E/C industry and potential competitors/ team partners to AECOM + Effectiveness in developing successful business initiatives and influencing participation outside of your direct line management authority + Currency and breadth of DOD/Federal client points of contact + Participation in joint military/ industry professional organizations (i.e. Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA)) + Relevant experience in industry or industry-like experience in DOD/Federal Agencies + Strong analytical and written skills + Excellent interpersonal skills What We Offer AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
