Junior Accountant, Budgeting & Analysis

Overview:
This role will be responsible for reporting the company's leasing activity, processing inside and outside lease commissions and assisting the Senior Corporate Accountant with the Management Company monthly reporting tasks. This position reports directly to the Senior Corporate Accountant, Budgeting & Analysis. This position is responsible for complying with the operational policies and procedures established by Vornado/Charles E. Smith, LP and Vornado Realty Trust.
Responsibilities:
Leasing:
Responsible for monthly lease commission process:
Preparation of Leasing Activity Report and balance at month end with the Corporate Accounting Department.
Tracking and preparation of Capitalized Time Summary.
Review, prepare, process and track the commission payments to outside brokers on inside deals.
Review, prepare, process and track the upfront leasing fees for third party managed buildings.
Prepare monthly accrual schedules for Corporate Accounting Department.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with inside and outside brokers.
Maintain the policies and procedures manual for the position.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Management Company:
Assist with monthly research and administrative support in preparation for the Management Company budgets and reforecasts including, but not limited to:
Monthly Management Fee Schedules
Monthly Lease Commission Schedules
Monthly A/R Invoicing
Monthly Report Preparation and Distribution
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
BA/BS degree (in accounting) preferred.
1 - 2 years of accounting related experience preferred.
Commercial real estate industry experience preferred.
Technical Experience:
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required. Intermediate Excel skill level preferred.
Proficient in other Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Outlook.
Administrative skills: type minimum 60 wpm with great accuracy; timely and accurate daily filing and record keeping.
Excellent grammar and proofreading skills for accuracy in document preparation.
Other Skills/Requirements:

Ability to work without close supervision.
Task oriented, proactive, and strong ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Strong analytical skills: collect, interpret, organize, and analyze detailed data.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
