Overview
We are currently seeking a Mid-Atlantic District Rail Director to expand and develop our Rail practice in the Mid-Atlantic (MD/DC/VA/WV) market place. This position will be based in our Arlington, VA office and will be responsible for securing and managing the profitable operation of major rail and transit programs. This individual will be an integral part of the Mid-Atlantic District leadership team and will collaborate with HNTB's East Coast Rail Leadership team to support national rail pursuits and programs. Responsibilities
The Mid-Atlantic District Rail Director is responsible for business development, technical quality oversight and MEGA ($5M-$24.9M) Rail project delivery.
Lead and support client service teams to develop and ensure execution of sales strategies.
Individual must have a strong reputation with key clients and knowledge of market opportunities in DC, Northern Virginia, Maryland and throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The individual will develop and sustain key customer relationships to build alliances and acquire or expand our business footprint.
As a leader in business development, the successful candidate will also serve as a contact internally and externally for foundation clients in the region, participate in strategic business planning efforts, and support regional transportation consulting. A high level of client interaction is expected.
As a technical leader, the successful candidate will coordinate with clients to define work programs and budgets, provide leadership in project planning and strategy including general oversight and planning, project management, project implementation, and ensuring quality of work products.
The successful candidate will also support staff development through delegation, mentoring, recruitment, and evaluation.
Reports to Mid-Atlantic District Leader and works collaboratively with East Coast Rail and market sector leaders.
Supports major national pursuits as time allows.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 20 years rail systems design and construction experience.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
MEGA Rail Project / Program Management Experience.
Strong rail industry relationships and contacts with Mid-Atlantic clients.
Operating railroad experience a strong plus.
Consultant engineering experience preferred.
Individual must be energetic, self-directed and success focused.
PE preferred.
Environment and Physical Requirements: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
