PTL Sr. Material Manager - PTS

Overview:
The Personnel Tracking & Locator (PTL) Senior (Sr.) Material Manager will keep the PTL Program Manager updated on all material related functions. These functions include all program-level reports and analysis related to program use and consumption of materials, proper execution of Diplomatic Security (DS) logistics processes by program material managers especially all inventory reconciliation, and day-to-day coordination with PTL deployed elements for required materials. The PTL Sr. Material Manager will use the DS work management system (currently CMMS/ILMS) to track and manage assets and other materials and will provide logistical support for all levels of the PTL program to include planning current and future PTL system/hardware requirements in order to ensure consistent operation and availability. The PTL Sr. Material Manager will work with other technical teammates to input and process Bills of Material and Purchase Requests using the Diplomatic Security work management system, and route them for approval.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for timely shipping and all shipping/reception coordination with gaining posts.
Responsible for acquisition of PTL materials IAW FAR and DOSAR and for the processing, packing and shipment of PTL systems and fly?away kits.
Assist the testing vendor of repaired items to verify that they are operational prior to returning said items to the field. Identify replenishment requirements of PTL hardware.
Deliver equipment to the Logistical Operations Center (LOC) located in Springfield, VA.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and supervision to PTL Logistics teammates.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor?s Degree and five years of experience, or High School Diploma plus ten years of experience is required. Must have expertise in large-scale logistics.
Familiarity with tactical tracking operations is a plus.
Minimum 5 years professional work experience in a military or government environment is required. Knowledge of Government procurement systems is desired.

Ability to communicate and coordinate actions effectively with individuals at all organizational and management levels, including other agencies outside of the Department.
Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision. Must demonstrate the ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive team.
Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have strong attention to detail.
Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and office automation software (e.g., Microsoft Office, SharePoint).
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee must be able to stand, walk and sit for a prolonged period of time; use hands and/or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; operate office equipment; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distant vision. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Medical conditions or physical impediments may disqualify candidates from overseas work where comprehensive medical care may be limited or unavailable, or where the condition or impediment would put the individual at unacceptable risk. Duties may be performed in an active combat zone where the employee would be required to seek shelter. There may be stress, psychological and physical hardships, and the possibility of living in field conditions associated with this position.
Travel:
May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training or maintenance at diplomatic facilities. OCONUS travel may include critical threat locations around the world with austere living conditions. Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.
Work Environment:
Full-time, 40+ hour week while Domestic. Overseas travel is usually under hazardous conditions when deployed in a theater of operations. Personnel meeting the provisions of Department of State Standardized Regulations, Chapter 650 ? Danger Pay Allowance, and performing in a location determined a hazardous duty area are eligible to receive uplift pay over basic compensation.
Living Environment: When deployed overseas lodging, meals, medical and basic life support services will be provided while in a theater of operations, as well as the prevailing per diem rate for incidental expenses (I&E;).
Work Location:
The stateside work location will be in Sterling, VA and DOS Annexes in Arlington and/or Springfield, VA. The location of high-risk environments will be disclosed upon interview.
Citizenship/Security Clearance/Passport: The candidate must be a US citizen and possess an active SECRET security clearance.Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required Security Clearance/access approvals; and must be able to obtain and maintain a US passport.
Medical Clearance:
Must be able to obtain / maintain a DoS Class 1 medical clearance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
