Mathematics Research Consultant, Mid

Key Role:
Serve as a strategic consultant to government science and technology research and development clients. Make a significant impact in advancing a wide range of mathematics-based technologies by combining strategic planning and technical analysis. Work with clients to develop and research ideas for the formulation of new programs. Provide in-depth subject matter expertise, conduct background research, interface with the research community to evaluate the feasibility of new technological concepts, and shape research program goals. Assist with the management of high-risk research programs. Generate and present comprehensive technical briefings, technical papers, and strategic recommendations to colleagues and clients. Perform and publish original technical analysis in support of client needs.
Basic Qualifications:
-4 years of experience with active research
-Ability to convey complex technical insights to specialist and generalist audiences
-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-PhD degree in Mathematics
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with research in machine learning, pattern recognition, computer vision, language processing, data mining, artificial intelligence, novel data fusion and statistic interference with incomplete data, and signal processing preferred
-Experience with programming in Matlab, C, or C
-Ability to apply expertise across a wide variety of technical problems
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
Clearance:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
