Job Description
The Advancion? Market Leader, Energy Storage, within the New Energy Solutions group, is responsible for developing a channel partner strategy, originating strategic partnerships, and initiating deals in support of Energy Storage product sales. Reporting to the Channel Strategy and global Sales Director, this position is responsible for the overall business relationship between AES and its channel partners in the region by providing leadership, direction, and support of sales efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and drive business strategies and plans to promote and grow overall sales and market share from, direct and third party channel partner sales in the respective region and supporting AES project development teams with energy storage solutions.
Responsible for originating, qualifying and shaping deals that will gain market share for AES Advancion? through the three go-to-market approaches.
Identify potential new channel partners, regionally, for the AESES Advancion? energy storage solutions.
Gain an in-depth understanding of AESES and the AES Advancion? product in order to promote its value to partners, customers and stakeholders.
Develop and execute the regional strategic sales plan and agreements with channel partners in compliance with AESES policies and practice.
Coordinate the commercial team to ensure a comprehensive view of the energy storage business opportunity and to grow the overall size of the market for energy storage.
Directly manage sales channel partners in the region and grow the support team for channel sales efforts.
Operational responsibilities include:
Customer and Stakeholder Development
Educate and develop working relationships with power system operators, utilities, industrial users, power regulators, government officials and local stakeholders related to energy storage directly and in coordination with AES Market Business Leaders.
Introduce AESES and Advancion? storage capabilities.
Expand AESES market presence for energy storage including media, industry events, in working groups and conferences.
Manage internal relationships and messages across AES regional teams.
Manages stakeholder development for energy storage in cooperation with AS or partner efforts in the region.
Create customer offers, negotiate and win new business.
Develop a regional strategic commercial plan.
Prepare compelling bids and offers combining features and commercial terms to attract customers to AESES solution.
Serve as voice of customer, providing timely market intelligence.
Communicate competitor commercial offerings.
Negotiate commercial contracts.
Responsible for energy storage order intake in the region.
Market Development Management
Direct, manage and coordinate AES Advancion? sales go-to-market approach; direct and channel sales in the region and serve AES project development teams with energy storage solutions.
Prepare and manage regional budget and forecast for regional market commercial activities.
Maintain knowledge of competitor landscape in the region and share knowledge and competitive activity with AES Energy storage global teams.
Assist in the creation of content for regional marketing collateral materials in coordination with the global marketing team.
Opportunity pipeline and collaboration with channel partners in region.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience working in a role which requires direct sales, marketing and business development for a technical product. Experience within the energy, power, or utility sector preferred, but not required.
An undergraduate degree, preferably in engineering, business, marketing, strategy, economics, or similar area of study. Advanced degree preferred.
He/she will have gained their experience in a high quality, highly regarded business environment that places a premium on intelligence and value-added results. This person will be comfortable working in a dynamic matrix environment. International experience and understanding of cross-cultural negotiations is highly desirable. Written and spoken fluency in English language is essential. Second language proficiency in French and/or Spanish highly preferred.
Experience growing a channel sales support team and in managing product sales growth targets.
Ability to understand technical aspects of the AES Energy Storage products.
High sense of urgency for customer satisfaction and sales achievement.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including an ability to build rapport & trust quickly. Ability to collaborate across diverse internal and external teams in the US and around the world.
Demonstrated ability for high performance across multiple projects, with multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment.
Demonstrates sound business judgment in a dynamic business environment.
Takes individual initiative and works with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team player.
Demonstrates an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a "whatever it takes" attitude.
Experience working on a successful new business strategy/"start- up" within the context of a larger company is desirable.
Willingness to travel to support business needs throughout the territory, estimated at 50% of the time.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
