Job Description
AES is seeking an energy storage market director for specific regional market area in the United States. You will be the primary person responsible for generating new energy storage opportunities in the target region from AES' existing platform of businesses, through channel partners and with third party customers. The role will involve customer and related stakeholder development, formulation of technical/commercial offers based on AES' Advancion? energy storage solutions platform. The role reports to the Advancion Market Leader, US & Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and drive business tactical sales strategies and plans to promote and grow overall sales and market share from, direct and third party channel partner sales in the respective sub-region and supporting AES project development teams with energy storage solutions.
Responsible for originating, qualifying and shaping deals that will gain market share for AES Advancion? through the three go-to-market approaches. Responsible for energy storage order intake in the sub-region.
Identify and propose potential new channel partners, regionally, for the AESES Advancion? energy storage solution.
Gain an in-depth understanding of AES ES and the AES Advancion? product platform in order to promote its value to partners, customers and stakeholders.
Develop, plan and execute the sub-regional strategic sales activities and agreements with channel partners in compliance with AES ES policies and practice.
Coordinate with the commercial team to ensure a comprehensive view and understanding of the energy storage business opportunities.
Operational responsibilities include:
Customer and Stakeholder
Introduce AES ES and Advancion? storage capabilities.
Educate and develop working relationships with power system operators, utilities, industrial users, power regulators, government officials and local stakeholders related to energy storage directly and in coordination with AES Market Business Leaders.
Support the expansion of AES ES market presence for energy storage including media, industry events in working groups and conferences.
Manage internal relationships and messages across AES project development regional teams.
Manages stakeholder development for energy storage in cooperation with AES or partner efforts in the sub region.
Evaluate, understand and summarize customer requirements and support the commercial team formulate compelling offers and be the lead negotiator in wining new business.
Interact with legal support on contract terms and negotiate commercial contracts.
Assist and propose the tactical strategic approach to customer's offers.
Serve as voice of customer, providing timely market intelligence.
Communicate competitor technical and commercial offerings.
Market Development Management
Direct, manage and coordinate AES Advancion? sales go-to-market approach; direct and channel sales in the sub-region and serve AES project development teams with energy storage solutions.
Prepare and manage sub-regional budget and order intake forecast for market commercial activities using salesforce.
Maintain knowledge of competitor landscape in the sub-region and share knowledge and competitive activity with AES Energy storage global teams.
Assist in the creation of content for sub-regional marketing collateral materials in coordination with the global marketing team.
Develop and manage the opportunity pipeline in collaboration with channel partners in the sub-region.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience working in a complex sales environment with proven track record in direct sales, marketing and business development of a technical product. Experience within the energy, power, or utility sector preferred.
An undergraduate degree, preferably in electrical engineering, business, marketing, strategy, economics, or similar area of study.
He/she will have gained their experience in a high quality, highly regarded business environment that places a premium on intelligence and value-added results. This person will be comfortable working in a dynamic matrix environment. International experience and understanding of cross-cultural negotiations is highly desirable. Written and spoken fluency in English language is essential. Second language proficiency in Spanish highly preferred.
Experience growing and managing complex solutions and product sales.
Ability to understand technical aspects of the AES Energy Storage products.
High sense of urgency for customer satisfaction and sales achievement.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including an ability to build rapport & trust quickly.
Ability to collaborate with cross cultural teams in the US and around the world.
Demonstrated ability for high performance across multiple projects, with multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment.

Willingness to travel to support business needs throughout the territory, estimated at 50% of the time.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
