Residential Specialist - Per Diem

SUMMARY: The Residential Specialist is responsible for monitoring the smooth operation of the house through supervision of a Residential Community Structure. Per Diem shifts available at adolescent programs (Girls Recovery Lodge and Boys Recovery Lodge) as well as adult programs (Phoenix Program, adult males, and Demeter Program, adult females). This position assures a safe and drug free environment and provides Life Skills and 12 Step Education. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor therapeutic milieu and client activities Conduct random and regular walk-through of house Respond to client's crises and emergencies as needed Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and respect for clients in all interactions Maintain objectivity towards all clients and make decisions based on accurate information. Maintain observation of dining room, living room, patio, and bedrooms to monitor client activities Transport clients to outside activities, night AA meetings and appointments as needed Monitor clients leaving and returning from pass Organize transportation for clients as necessary, including Taxi Voucher Procedures Communicate with staff in staff meetings regarding client participation and client's progress Provide client milieu information in staff log Chart behavioral changes and any behavioral management issues employed with the client Meet at least monthly with supervisor for supervision Attend morning shift report to give and receive client milieu Attend residential staff, clinical problem solving meetings, as scheduled Document significant client issues in staff log, client chart and complete Incident Reports as needed and forward to Program Director Responsible for monitoring and facilitating resident recreation, free time, job function and meal times Present and facilitate Life Skills training and 12 Step Education Provide information on AA/NA to clients through 12 step education Assist residential supervisor in T.A.G., if applicable Conduct orientation for new clients based on Program handbook Maintain urine testing schedule and follow standard procedures in monitoring, charting and transporting urine to urinalysis facility Document in Urine Log and prepare specimens for labs. (refer to company policy for laboratory information) Take stat urine as needed Conduct random search of possessions of clients returning from pass Conduct random weekly urinalysis of residents, as directed by Residential Supervisor/Coordinator Distribute medication to clients for self-administration according to procedure Document all medications; report errors or problems to supervisor Ensure all equipment in sound working condition and reports any problem to supervisor Ensure new clients have items needed for first night at program (i.e. toiletries, linens etc.) Maintain smooth operation of house through Resident Community Structure Remain awake throughout shift During night shift, make bed checks of all clients at appropriate times During night shift, use Bed Checklist and note times of rounds, including a.Insure "lights out" rules are followed b.Confront inappropriate client behavior and documents intervention c.Respond to medical/psychiatric/behavioral emergencies in appropriate manner and contacts supervisor, Program Director as needed. Call 911 or employ Taxi Voucher Procedure in non emergencies Communicate with supervisor and staff regarding client related issues Complete shift with a shift note in staff log to indicate any changes in status of clients and/or facility Assist Administrative Assistant and Receptionist by breaking down charts and store properly, copying program forms and creating intake packets using Master Chart Monitor visitors during weekend visitation, and a.Require all visitors to sign in and wear visitor badge b.Assure no visitor enters if under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol c.Check all resident packages brought in to visitation for clients by visitors d.Monitor activities of clients and visitors to assure program and site/church rules are enforced TO APPLY: Please submit your resume and application to: PHMAjobs@phoenixhouse.org with "Residential Specialist - Per Diem" in the subject line. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
