Gilbane Transition Planning & Management (TPM) has been providing transition consulting services nationally since 1992. Gilbane TPM is a division of Gilbane Building Company, the nation's sixth largest construction manager. Gilbane TPM has an opening for a Transition Project Executive focused on the selling and delivery of transition services to the United States Federal Government nationally.
Profile:
Transition Project Executive/Federal Market Leader, is responsible for implementation and tactical execution of project activities on multiple transition projects and participating in the strategic marketing direction of Federal Government initiatives for the Transition Planning and Management Division. This person will report to the Managing Director of Transition Planning and Management.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Engagement and interaction with all levels of clients, vendors, consultants, etc. with clear and concise oral and written communications
Recruitment, training, and management of personnel
Delegation of responsibilities and oversight of work on multiple complex projects
Maintenance and accountability for and manage project staffing and resources
Building and managing project financial reporting maximizing potential for savings
Facilitating planning and scheduling sessions for large complex projects
Developing and maintaining transition plans, reports, budgets and other functional deliverable/management tools
Management/oversight of furniture, fixtures and equipment procurement strategy
Proactively identifying risks and liability issues and mitigate exposure
Cultivating and maintaining client and industry relationships
Proactively participating in business development opportunities including sales calls, proposal writing, presentations and contract negotiations. It is important that applicants be ready and willing to both "do" and "manage" the work. We are an entrepreneurial consulting team within a much larger organization ? so flexibility and adaptability are critical to our constantly changing priorities. The position will work closely with Gilbane Building Company Operations personnel in supporting prospective and ongoing construction projects. This position will operate out of our Arlington office, but may be required to travel to support business development and project requirements.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO OUR WINNING TEAM:
Experience:
8-10 years of project management experience in the following areas: architecture/engineering, logistics, tenant fit out, voice/data, furniture/equipment, facilities management, or relocation management. Successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of federal government administrative, research, and/or clinical operations. Project assignments will not be limited to the federal market and may include higher education, public/local government or commercial work. Knowledge of MS Office scheduling software, CADD and Access database are a plus. Should be construction document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical.
Education:
The successful candidate must have a minimum of a BS degree and have extensive related field experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent listening skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Construction document and drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction
Knowledge of scheduling software, CADD and Access database
Detailed knowledge of at least two TPM market sectors, such as healthcare, government/military, research and development/laboratory, or higher education
Demonstrated ability to manage complex project teams
Ability to demonstrate insight on TPM consulting strategy and interest in strategy formation

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
