Dir, Information Technology

Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operations of the Information Technology department within the CIO organization to include responsibility for infrastructure, applications, end user computing, service desk, telecommunications, and audio/visual services across multiple unclassified and classified environments. Oversee a portfolio of projects and programs to enhance and maintain CNA?s computing capabilities. The Director of IT reports to VP and Chief Information Officer (CIO). This leadership role carries with it personal and corporate responsibility to build and sustain a respectful workplace. Duties/and or Responsibilities
1 Provide day-to-day operational direction and oversight for the Information Technology department. Develop and implement internal IT policies and procedures designed to improve work procedures and service quality.
2 Provide direction and oversight to a portfolio of projects and programs. Work with research and corporate management to establish priorities and allocate resources accordingly. Recommend new projects to improve and enhance CNA computing environments.
3 Interact regularly with IT customers and senior leaders across CNA to understand customer needs and evaluate IT performance. Ensure customer support processes are operating efficiently and effectively. Address and resolve priority conflicts and ensure appropriate allocation of IT resources.
4 Ensure the security of all networks, systems, and data. Partner with the Security organization to identify and promptly address vulnerabilities. Ensure an effective patching and remediation process is in place and operating. Ensure maintenance activities are performed as required to ensure security and availability of networks.
5 Ensure compliance with all government, contractual, and legal requirements and regulations affecting IT systems. Work with internal and external auditors and assessors to promptly address weaknesses in controls and processes.
6 Establish, maintain, and publish IT performance metrics. Measures will include, but are not limited to, customer satisfaction, systems availability, service level performance, financial performance, and risk.
7 Assist the CIO with IT strategy development and execution. Develop operational plans and associated budgets in support of overall IT and CNA strategies.
8 Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and suppliers. Partner with Contracts and Procurement (CAP) to select and obtain technologies and services.
9 Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1 Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Technical certifications are a plus.
2 Experience: At least 10 years related technical experience with at least 5 years within various disciplines in the IT function, including progressively more responsible experience managing technical staff and projects. Experience in a DoD classified computing environment preferred.
3 Skills: Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and programs. Ability to develop and manage departmental and project budgets and plans. Ability to lead technical staff and promote a strong service orientation. Ability to interpret and implement compliance requirements and security controls while balancing user requirements. Excellent leadership, communication and
interpersonal skills. Ability to address technical issues in both technical and non-technical terms. Strong, current knowledge of information technologies and ability to select and implement technologies matched to business requirements.
4 Other: Must be able to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance. Secret clearance required at time of hire.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
