Intern, Business Development

Cardno is a professional infrastructure and environmental services company, with expertise in the development and improvement of physical and social infrastructure for communities around the world.
Cardno is seeking an Intern, Business Development in our Arlington, VA office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
> Responsible for researching topics for upcoming proposals/bids for donor funded projects in multiple sectors, including economic growth and health. Specific research is expected to include, but not limited to, an economic growth project focused on small and medium enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic. A second research focus will be research in health, including analysis of funding flows of sub-topics in health (e.g., HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB, Maternal/Child Health, Nutrition, Family Planning, NTDs) by different donors. The Intern will work closely with technical staff in relevant Practice Units, as well as Business Development staff
> Responsible for tailoring resumes/CVs of candidates for positions on proposals to be submitted to donors, such as the U.S. Agency for International Development. Also, the Intern will write qualifications statements which reflect Cardno's experience and success in projects similar to the projects for which Cardno is submitting proposals/bids
> The Intern will work closely with technical staff in relevant Technical Practice Units, as well as Business Development staff
RequirementsBasic qualifications:
> Strong research skills
> Excellent written and oral communications skills
> Proven ability to juggle multiple assignments
> Word and Outlook skills; Excel a plus
> Professional proficiency in English
> The Intern will be expected to work 20 hours per week. The assignment is expected to begin in early December or January and will be completed at the end of March 2017

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
