We are looking for a Compensation Manager to sit in our Arlington, Virginia corporate office.
The Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the broad based compensation function. The role plans, develops and implements new and existing compensation programs in an effort to be responsive to the Company's business objectives. Additionally, the Manager Compensation assures compensation programs are consistently administered, in accordance with Company policy and government regulations.
Core Responsibilities
Provides consultation and guidance to management on organizational structures, career leveling, job analysis, pay decisions, job and salary guideline interpretation.
Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and programs, and recommends plan revisions as well as new plans that are consistent with compensation trends and Company objectives.
Participates in the analysis, development, design, communication and implementation of various broad based compensation programs, including salary structures, job evaluation and incentive plan programs.
Supports the annual salary planning cycle by ensuring data is provided which supports the budget recommendation, assists in the development of salary increase guidelines, and participates in the annual set up tasks in the salary planning system.
Provides guidance to the compensation analyst regarding ad-hoc compensation analysis of internal equity and external market competitiveness as requested by clients or HR business partners
Keeps apprised of federal, state and local compensation related regulations, e.g. FLSA, minimum wage, etc. and ensures AVB remains in compliance.
Provides support to management in writing job descriptions and manages the on-going maintenance of job descriptions as well as the job code table in PeopleSoft.
Manages the annual participation in salary surveys.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources Management or a related field.
5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation.
Prior experience utilizing MarketPay, PeopleSoft and Oracle Fusion, or other similar salary planning systems is a plus.
Knowledge of legal regulations as they pertain to compensation.
Detail oriented with strong organizational, project management and analytical skills.
Exhibits the ability to multi-task and perform as a team player in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Possesses strong customer and results orientation as well as clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Performs basic Microsoft Office applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
