Manager, Dedicated Grant Mechanism, Global Reporting Agency Monitoring, Reporting, and Communication
The Monitoring, Reporting and Communications Manager will join a team of professionals at conservation International (CI) supporting a unique and innovative financing mechanism for indigenous peoples and local communities for climate change mitigation related activities called the Dedicated Grant Mechanism for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (DGM). The DGM was established by the Forest Investment Program under the Climate Investment Funds and is administered by the World Bank. It includes a Country Component in which a National Committee, composed of indigenous peoples and local community representatives, manage a grant-making fund for local projects, and a Global Component that focuses on Learning and Knowledge Exchange and Communications. Conservation International (CI) has been selected as the Global Executing Agency (GEA) for the Global Component of the DGM. The Global Executing Agency for the DGM sits within the Social Policy and Practice Department of the Policy Center for Environment and Peace at CI. This position will join the DGM Global Executing Agency team to manage the overall monitoring and reporting requirements of the Global Learning and Knowledge Exchange component of the DGM. Working in close collaboration with the Director of the Global Executing Agency and the National Executing Agencies in the DGM countries, the position will develop and manage the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for the DGM and the Global Project; manage the collaborative reporting outputs required of the Global Project and the Country Projects for reporting on the activities and results of the DGM; and develop and manage the overall communications process and flow of information for the DGM. CI is seeking a skilled and motivated individual who is highly interested in working with indigenous peoples and local community representatives and the GEA to support the success of the DGM and its Global Learning component. The successful candidate will have will have demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation methodologies and in developing and implementing M&E frameworks; experience in managing complex reporting and information/communications requirements; excellent intercultural communications skills; be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs and have excellent written and spoken English. She/he must be able to travel internationally, be flexible, efficient and work will in a team environment. Proficiency in French, Spanish or Portuguese is also required. RESPONSIBILITIES Developing and managing the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for the DGM and the Global Project: In collaboration with the DGM National Executing Agencies (NEAs), Develop and manage a DGM Wide Monitoring & Evaluation Framework for the Common Indicators of the Country Project and the Specific Indicators of the Global Project as required under the DGM Program Coordinate with NEAs to develop ongoing flow of data and reporting on indicators Advise NEAs on the development of their national level M&E program Develop a monitoring framework and project level indicators for the Global Project and manage the Global Project M&E process Managing and producing the collaborative planning and reporting outputs required of the Global Project and the Country Projects for reporting on the activities and results of the DGM: Complete the semi-annual programmatic progress report for the Global project Coordinate with the NEA reporting leads to develop a common process and reporting template for compiling data at the national level required to produce the required semi-annual programmatic progress report on Country Project Activities Produce the combined semi-annual progress report on the activities the DGM for the World Bank On behalf of the Global Steering Committee, produce the annual report on the activities and results of the DGM for the Forest Investment Program (FIP) Assist the Policy Center Finance Manager in the completion of the semi-annual financial report on the Global Project Assist in the development of the Strategic Plan for the Global Project Assist in the development of the annual work plan and budget for the Global Project Contribute to developing and managing the overall DGM Communications Strategy: Working with SPPs Senior manager for Communications and Knowledge management, contribute to the design of the Communication and Outreach Strategy for the global project Liaise with the NEA communications focal points to gather reports, information and results stories on DGM Country activities for use on the DGM Global website and other communications tools. Develop and maintain a data base of DGM Country and Global Project documents Coordinate CI Internal Communications on the activities/results/impacts of the DGM Global Project Other Duties as Required Contribute to other activities that further the objectives of the Global Project as required by position supervisor. WORKING CONDITIONS This position is located at CI headquarters offices in Arlington, Virginia Occasional domestic and International travel may be required up to 10-15% annually. International travel may include remote locations without modern conveniences. The position may require lifting up to 50 pounds QUALIFICATIONS Required A Masters' Degree in Non-profit Management, Communications, International Relations, Environmental or Development Studies or related field 3-5 years' experience in a multi-national Conservation or Development NGO Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation programs for multi-national, public-funded projects Familiarity with and a strong interest in the socio-economic issues related to climate change mitigation and adaptation, conservation, and development, and their impacts on indigenous peoples and local communities. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint; Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under multiple deadlines and tasks; Experience in working with a multicultural, international audience Experience with communications and outreach to multi-cultural audiences Excellent written and spoken English Written and spoken fluency in Spanish, French or Portuguese?French highly desirable Preferred Familiarity with financial reporting highly desirable Familiarity with SquareSpace or other website platform, digital communication and social media Experience living and working outside of the USA Competency in an additional language-Spanish, French, Portuguese, Bahasa Are you a returning applicant?
