Description/Job Summary
For nearly 75 years, the USO has been the nation's leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side.
Today's USO continuously adapts to the needs of our men and women in uniform and their families, so they can focus on their very important mission. We operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.
The Vice President, Entertainment Partnerships is responsible for developing and maintaining key relationships with diverse and high-quality talent sources and representatives for USO entertainment and program activities, fundraising and brand advancing purposes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities ( Essential Duties)
In coordination with the Senior Vice President, Brand Advancement, develop and implement short-term and long range plans for attracting, engaging and securing celebrity talent for (a) a high volume and wide variety of domestic and global USO tours and events, (b) enhancing fundraising efforts through various means of engagement, and (c) advancing the USO brand by promoting their association with the USO to their various fan audiences.
Develop and maintain relevant relationships within the entertainment community and with other key partner organizations/entities, (celebrities, talent agents, producers, managers, lawyers, publicists, etc.) capitalizing on the value of affiliation with the USO brand.
Measure and report on the awareness of USO programs within the entertainment industry. Implement new and innovative strategies to expand awareness in core entertainment markets.
In collaboration with key internal stakeholders including but not limited to Development, Brand Advancement, and Operations, Programs and Entertainment, leverage celebrity recruitment capabilities in the development and delivery of new and existing USO programs and services.
Perform and monitor financial activities related to celebrity recruiting, including but not limited to creation and reconciliation of operating budget.
Lead, manage and mentor Specialist, Celebrity Recruitment. Perform assigned duties in the absence of Senior Vice President, Entertainment and Programs.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.
15+ years progressive work experience in a leadership or management role, including 7+ years in a supervisory capacity. Relevant experience in a not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
Ability to identify emerging entertainment trends related to societal and cultural change.
Demonstrated ability to create and lead high-performing teams. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and achieve desired results through others.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
Proficiency with developing long-term strategic direction and with business support functions (i.e. budget, planning, management) for a large enterprise or multiple business units.
Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. Working knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver's license.
Must be a strong advocate of the USO's mission.
This position is located in Arlington, VA. Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance to the location.
Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
