Environmental Subject Matter Expert

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is an agency in the United States Department of Defense, with more than 26,000 civilian and military personnel throughout the world. Located in 48 states and 28 countries, DLA provides supplies to the military services and supports their acquisition of weapons, repair parts, and other materials.
We are currently seeking a mid-level Environmental Subject Matter Expert to provide onsite support to the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support for Energy (DLA DS-FE).
Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic direction, vision, leadership and Program Management Support.
• Provide insight and advice concerning strategic direction to support DS-FE solutions.
• Provide specific technical and scientific expertise in support of task efforts related to the DS-FE’S requirements, goals and strategic direction.
• Contribute to the organization through regular involvement with senior level DS-FE leadership, Department of Defense, and industry officials.
Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, chemistry, environmental science or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with Health, Environmental Programs, and/or Management Systems.
• Five (5) years of specialized work experience shall be performed as a former Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Department of Defense (DoD), military, civilian official, or recognized within the industry as an expert in their specific field.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in one or more designated functional areas developing and applying analytical methodologies and principles.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite and other environmental databases.
• Have a DoD Common Access card (CAC) or having the ability to obtain one is required.
• Candidates must be able to obtain a favorably status with an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
