Biosafety and Biosecurity Lead

We are currently seeking a Biosafety and Biosecurity Lead. The location for this position is flexible to either Arlington VA or Battelle headquarters in Columbus OH.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is CONUS based with significant overseas travel expected to Africa, Asia and the Caucasus regions. This position coordinates directly with Battelle's prime contractor CH2M HILL, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), and the governments of partner nations, other tenants as necessary to ensure execution of the requirements of Battelle's subcontract with CH2M HILL and CH2M HILL's contract with DTRA.
Conduct BS&S Assessments and Operational Reviews of laboratory facilities, including management systems, biosecurity and biosafety capabilities, BS&S documents and protocols, compliance with international standards, and personnel capabilities;
Write Facility BS&S Plans, Manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory facilities that incorporate relevant international standards;
Conduct BS&S reviews of facilities and facility drawings and write BS&S Safety Plans Conduct BS&S training in accordance with existing curriculum; revise and upgrade curriculum as needed;
Make recommendations based on international BS&S standards that can be implemented and sustained in low-resource laboratories.
Conducts laboratory inspections to ensure that BSL-2 and BSL-3 operations are performed safely and securely; identifies deficiencies and unsafe work practices or conditions.
Develop biosecurity processes and procedures that limit access to the facility, research materials and information;
Develop an inventory and material management process for control and tracking of biological stocks or other sensitive materials;
Design a biosecurity program that allows for efficient laboratory operations and does not interfere with the conduct of research;
Teach good BS&S practices to lab staff who work in underequipped or old laboratories.
Conduct laboratory BS&S training for laboratory personnel from both human and veterinary diagnostic labs.
Do all teaching and communication through interpreter.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
Requires MS + 5 years or BS + 8 years of professional experience in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, chemical/biological sciences or other related areas within a BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratory environment.
Must be a Registered or Certified Biological Safety Professional with thorough knowledge of international BS&S laboratory standards, requirements, and guidelines; demonstrated knowledge of Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) and WHO Laboratory Biosafety guidelines.
Sufficiently medically fit to work in the BSL-2/3 laboratory and to perform assigned duties
Laboratory experience with infectious materials.
Laboratory experience in BSL-2 lab and preferably in BSL-3 lab.
Must possess a valid U.S. passport and be willing to travel as required CONUS & OCONUS to locations in in Africa, Asia, and the Caucasus regions

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
