SEC Reporting Accountant / Analyst

Exciting NEW SEC Project with large DC organization seeking multiple SEC Accountants for support with the following work:
+ Conduct month end close activities to include the preparation and review of: account reconciliations, journal entries, accrual schedules, variance analysis & commentary, and internal financial statements and monthly reporting package. Ensure compliance with GAAP
+ Prepare and effectively communicate financial statement fluctuations, both balance sheet and income statement as it relates to prior year, budget and forecast, identifying root causes for variances and resolution of issues
+ Receive and verify all vendor invoices/requisitions for goods and services while maintaining the accounts payable aging. As well as preparing payments and cash projections
+ Prepare and review various month end close reports, financial statements and analysis in order to validate the accuracy of the financial information, including but not limited to documenting results for submission to management and external auditors
+ Responsible for financial reporting systems and procedures, working to improve processes through existing software and software enhancements. Identify and implement ways to promote efficiency within the company?s financial reporting process
+ Assist in the preparation of external financial statements and SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K forms), to include XBRL tagging review, as well as review and tie-out of press releases and conference call scripts
+ Prepare Internal and External Audit schedules as assigned and conduct audit research and answer questions
+ Assist in researching accounting issues. Write, revise, document, monitor and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and accounting positions
+ Prepare and update materials for the Board of Directors? and Investors? presentation
+ Ad hoc reporting and analysis, as assigned

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
